Best Western Patong Beach

Decided last minute to stay two nights in Patong to experience its bustling beach. After checking in, I realized the hotel was in the 'Arab Street' area, with many Middle Eastern and Indian guests. Even the buffet dinner was Indian food – it felt like I'd landed in India! However, this hotel is a chain business-style establishment, so the facilities and management are reliable. The location is excellent: a 5-minute walk to the seafood market, 10 minutes to malls like Big C and Jungceylon, and a 2-minute walk to 7-Eleven. It’s far enough from the lively Bangla Road to be quiet, which is a plus. It's convenient for shopping and getting to the airport later. The rooftop pool has clean water and offers beautiful sunset views. There's also a simple gym. The room's air conditioning was very strong, and they provided a beach bag and bathrobes. The downsides are that the room wasn't very soundproof; I was woken from my nap by loud music from next door, with the sound seeming to come through the Wi-Fi box. Also, the carpet in the elevator was quite dirty.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Best Western Patong Beach, absolutely disgusting and appalling! Discriminatory against Chinese, filthy and chaotic, plus deliberate harassment – Chinese people, stay far away! This hotel isn't just bad service; it's rotten to the core, specifically designed to torment Chinese tourists. The entire experience was a nightmare. I urge all Chinese travelers coming to Thailand to blacklist this place immediately; don't even set foot inside! On the first day, we were shoved into a disgusting, filthy, and unbearable connecting room. You could even see a woman and a child lying on the bed in the room next door when you opened the door, and a child was crying in the middle of the night. The moment we entered, there was a pungent, moldy smell, and the room hadn't been cleaned at all. The toilet was covered in urine stains. The hygiene was shocking – completely unfit for human habitation! We immediately requested a room change, but the front desk flat-out lied, claiming it was the last room available and firmly refusing to move us. Even after complaining to Trip.com for pressure, they remained unyielding and refused to deal with it, clearly intentionally making things difficult! On the second day, after repeated strong demands for a room change, we explicitly emphasized multiple times: no end rooms, no connecting rooms, only a quiet room. Yet, the hotel, being utterly depraved, deliberately assigned us an end room at the very end of the hallway again! Even without the strange smell, we were kept awake all night by the deafening noise of motorcycles revving their engines. They completely ignored all reasonable requests, intentionally giving the worst, noisiest rooms to Chinese guests! What's most infuriating is the blatant, undisguised ******! The front desk fawned over white people the entire time, prioritizing them for good rooms and good service, and their check-in process was smooth and courteous. However, they treated Chinese tourists with cold disdain and lied constantly, always using the excuse of 'last room available.' Yet, within just two hours of our check-in, and even returning late at night, we saw many other guests checking in and out normally. Their 'no rooms' claim was a complete fabrication! All requests were useless, complaints were ignored, and we were maliciously targeted and treated differently throughout. Paying to stay at a hotel and enduring discrimination and harassment – from management to the front desk, this place, from top to bottom, does not treat Chinese tourists as human beings! This is a heartfelt, painful warning to all my Chinese compatriots: PLEASE, do NOT book this hotel! Don't give your money to this heartless hotel that discriminates against Chinese people and has no bottom line. Don't let your trip be ruined by this malicious and utterly disgusting place!
