The building is very well located, right in front of the ISQUARE metro exit. You need to go up to the 16th floor for check-in. The reception was excellent, and they spoke English. You have to leave a 100 HKD cash deposit, which is returned upon departure.
The room was small but sufficient for two people.
It was clean and well-equipped.
The neighborhood is very lively.

I've been to Hong Kong so many times, but this is my first stay at Chungking Mansions. I came prepared, but it turned out to be much better than expected. The Filipino lady at the front desk was incredibly warm and friendly, and she even upgraded my room. For just over a hundred dollars, to get such a spacious and quiet room in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui was an absolute steal. I slept really well, and it was perfect for an overnight stay. The air conditioner was a wall-mounted unit, not a noisy window unit, which was fantastic.

The sink is tiny (like a toilet bidet), one bed is large and the other is minuscule, even though for the same price, there are 2 or 3-star hotels in the area? (Especially in the off-season)... And the shower is over the toilet like 30 years ago?? You get the whole toilet wet when you shower?? I don't think we're in India or Nepal...

If you're looking for a place right in the heart of Hong Kong, this is one of the acceptable options in terms of price-quality. Be prepared though, it's a tiny 'cage' (room) about a meter by a meter, and you might have to wait 10 minutes for the elevator. Otherwise, everything else is fine.

Room was very small for two people but felr authentic for Hong Kong and was overall clean, bedsheets were washed and changed but there were a few small stains. Bins were changed and got fresh towels. Only one toilet (with shower above it) for a lot of room (I think 9 rooms) and the elevator had a long queue at night.
Front desk man really friendly, and location was good. It is inside a large shop / food court but I personally didn’t feel it unsafe if you go in the entrance from the Main Street it’s the first elevator on the left on the 16th floor section A. Free water provided and access to microwave and fridge.For a budget option I was happy.

We had to leave and find another hotel because this one felt incredibly dodgy. The shower was literally a hole, and you had to shower over the toilet. The beds felt like rocks with barely an inch of mattress. It didn't seem clean at all. The only positive was that the lady at reception was nice, but we absolutely do not recommend it, unless it's your absolute last resort and you can't find anything else or don't have money for other options. Sorry.
