MGM RESERVE QINGDAO

This was my first time staying at MGM Cotai; I usually stay at the St. Regis, but since it was Chinese New Year, I wanted to try something new. It seems the Grand Suites are on floors 30 and above, while the regular MGM rooms are below floor 30. The check-in lobby for the Grand Suites is on the 51st floor, whereas for MGM it's on the ground floor. I waited for a long time on the ground floor, but they couldn't find my reservation, so the lady directed me to the 51st floor... The staff offered me refreshments and black tea during check-in, which was a thoughtful touch. I paid to upgrade to a side sea view room, which was similarly priced to the St. Regis, but the Grand Suites room was noticeably larger. Being newly renovated, it felt a bit more luxurious than the St. Regis, with a strong Chinese aesthetic. The bedding was quite comfortable, and the toilet was a fully automatic TOTO. The room layout reminded me a bit of the suites at the Bulgari Beijing. Ms. Cherie provided excellent service. I added her on WeChat before my stay, and she sent me lots of information about the Chinese New Year activities. Whether it was the front desk staff, the general service staff, or the male housekeeping attendants (there are many male staff here, including in housekeeping management), everyone's service attitude was superb – soft-spoken and very polite. Compared to some of the somewhat arrogant staff at the St. Regis, I was much more satisfied with the service here. The view from the window wasn't as lavish as the St. Regis, which boasts the most beautiful coastline, but it was still pleasant with mountains, sea, and scenery. Plus, the One Central shopping mall is right downstairs, making it very convenient for shopping. My only issue was that the bathtub leaked on the first day, and the shower drain was blocked, causing water to flood the bathroom. Although the maintenance staff responded quickly on Chinese New Year's Eve, the bathtub continued to leak repeatedly due to the rubber seal coming loose. The maintenance staff mentioned that the floor drains in this batch for the showers weren't very good, and they even removed my floor drain, but the drainage was still slow and gurgling. Overall, I was quite satisfied and would consider staying here again in the future.

The hotel environment is fantastic, and it offers incredible value for money. I accidentally booked a king-size bed room while traveling alone with two kids, and the staff kindly upgraded us to a twin room for free. The soothing tea delivered in the evening was a thoughtful touch. However, the staff's response time was a bit slow; I had to ask for the welcome fruit three times, and it didn't arrive until 8 or 9 PM.

Very satisfied with the room, and the room service was warm and excellent. Elly, the butler, provided outstanding service. This is a hotel I'd choose again when I return to Qingdao. This trip included both seniors and children, and the baby had a wonderful time too.

This hotel is absolutely perfect! The service and environment were both excellent. My only minor complaint is that the breakfast could be a bit more varied. The hotel explained it was due to staffing shortages over the New Year, and I'm hoping for a different experience next time! Looking forward to it!

Had a very comfortable stay here. The pool was beautiful, and Giselle provided excellent service, always responding promptly to my questions. My only regret was the bad weather; I hope to see Qingdao's blue skies and clear waters on my next visit.

This hotel doesn't live up to the standard of a normal MGM property at all. You have to take three different elevators to get to your room. It's a 'pseudo-suite' with no partition between the bedroom and living room. While the room size isn't small, it's mostly wasted space. There's absolutely no service; the staff seem half-asleep and just waiting for their shift to end.
