An escape from a grey UK to the island paradise of Barbados and a stay at the Coral Reef Club. Excellent food, first class staff and service and a tropical setting around the hotel with lush planting. Situated directly on the soft sand beach but with additional swimming pools which were never crowded. A beautiful room, fully air conditioned with a covered balcony and en-suite facilities. Breakfasts with everything you could want to eat. This is highly recommended and we look forward to a return visit.

This hotel is simply the best in the world!! Family owned, it truly is reflected in the attention to detail from the understated elegance of the furnishings through to the professionalism and hospitality which the staff display. The most beautiful beach area and stunning dining terrace with panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea all help to create a beautiful relaxing environment to unwind and relax. The food is nothing short of excellent and the facilities which the hotel offers are second to none! I’ve stayed at some of the best hotels in the world and none compare to The beautiful Coral Reef Club. Will definitely be back next year ♥️

Coral Reef is the only hotel we ever stay in on the island, from the minute we arrive, we relax and shut off from the world. I love the lack of a TV in the room, we leave our phones locked away and soak up the beauty of the stunning gardens and the perfect stretch beach we get to walk on and snorkel everyday. The staff are the reason we return every year. From the restaurant, bar and beach butlers, everyone is amazing and its always great to see them. The ladies on the front desk are so lovely and are always happy to help us with anything, we are always happy to see them there when we return. The food is superb, everytime. We look forward to it and it never disappoints. We were very happy to hear some new entertainment on monday and Tuesday night!! A much needed revamp, they were great, we really enjoyed listening to them and look forward to them being there next time We'll be returning as soon as we can!

The Coral Reef Club was an unexpected surprise. It’s truly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. The rooms are very large with large terraces. I reserved the cheapest category room, a Garden View Cottage, and was delighted with the view (tip, second floor rooms have a better view and are more private). From our terrace we had views of the beautiful gardens and even the ocean through the trees. The decor was traditional. It reminded me of great private beach houses in the Mediterranean and South America 50 years ago. Understated luxury. We extended our stay and were upgraded to a Luxury Cottage with great ocean views. The bathroom in this room was expansive, with a huge bathtub. There are no TVs in the rooms. The Wifi is a little slow, but manageable. The entire philosophy of the hotel is designed for relaxation. Nothing is rushed. Every request is taken as normal. My wife is on a gluten-free diet, and she was provided every day with various types of gluten free bread for breakfast and when she ordered a club sandwich it was prepared with gluten free toast. Service in the gorgeous beach is perfect. We had lunch in our lounge chairs more than once. The hotel caters mostly to British guests. The menus at the restaurant are clearly prepared following British customs. The restaurant has a dress code (no flip flops, no t-shirts, no bathing suits, no hats, and no shorts for dinner). This keeps the ambiance luxurious but not stuffy. Staff are friendly and keen to be of service without the need for “Hi I’m Joe and I’m going to be your server” fake cordiality. If you like luxury hotels with the glitzy modern ambience of a Ritz Carlton this hotel is not for you. I will certainly return.

This is our third time here and it won’t be the last. We wrote a 5 star review in 2004 and would say it got even better each time me stayed. The snorkeling and the reef has gotten even more vibrant. Lots of different kinds of fish, crystal clear water, very large reef to explore. The snorkeling, paddle boards, kayaks and some other water sports are free, but the wave runner has a moderate fee. Everyone is so friendly at the High Tides shack! The staff is amazing. We have conversations with all of them and they are so warm and welcoming. (We talked with the front gate attendant for 20 minutes last night when walking back from dinner) Note: You have to say hello and start the conversation first as there are mostly English people here and they don’t always prefer the conversation, so staff can be hesitant until you start the conversation . If you ask a question, the staff will always be warm and welcoming. The Bajan culture is so kind, and once you engage with it, you will love it. They have an incredible communal spirt here, and it’s hard to put into words. They make you feel connected to something special Coming from the US, we had to adjust to trusting the staff with reservations and such. We are so used to auto notifications, digital alerts, reservation errors etc, in the US. When you call the concierge for a future car and restaurant reservation, it gets done. You don’t have to double check and you don’t need a confirmation email. They just get it done and always schedule the nicest cars and drivers (if you dispatch through hotel, they can charge taxi to your room) The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are spacious and clean. They always have the best smelling soaps and lotions too. Rooms are cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis. Not just new towels and sheets but like mopping and complete cleaning. And the staff is delightful Tips. Breakfast is included and you can really fill up. If you are a light eater, the breakfast will last you all day! The event dinners, like the BBQ night, are very nice but anything fixed price can be a bit expensive. However, if you treat it as the evening experience and not just a dinner, it’s well worth it. (Make it a 3-4 hour evening). We stayed the third week of April and the room rates dropped significantly! And it’s a little less busy. Room service and beach service are same prices as restaurant. Prices arent bad when you consider the food quality, level of service and getting it delivered on the beach! Do the Island Safari Tour! Get up early and go see the horses swim (ask concierge), walk to Massey and get snacks for the room and shop at the Chattel shops, go to the Animal Flower Cave, do the free water sports at the resort, GO TO Oistens on Friday night (ask concierge to schedule) Our only regret is that we missed street karaoke in Holetown. It was Sat or Sun night on a side street and we walked past not knowing what was going on. Looked like a really good time! In all of our

Beautiful property with excellent service. My wife and I were really impressed with the Coral Reef Club. Every facet of our stay was first rate. Beautiful grounds with well manicured, lush foliage. Open air/covered dining area with live music every evening. Staff was friendly, professional and attentive. We are looking forward to our next stay!!

This is a remarkable property. The family run hotel is small enough that you feel and are treated like family, but large enough that you have so much to do. The tennis clinic that is offered free every day is awesome (Jose rocks). There is snorkeling on site and the service staff is second to none. Most importantly, Nigel is the best. He planned many excursions for us and helped us with restaurant choices. And Michelle at the front desk was also very helpful when our plane ride home was cancelled at the last second. She really stepped up to calm this nervous traveller. Highly recommend and late may and early june are the best time to go as it is not as busy. Coral Reef Rocks!!!
