Oriental Ginza Hotel Shenzhen

We were very disappointed with this hotel. There were seven of us from three families, and we chose this hotel for a two-night stay. Based on the photos of the hotel’s exterior posted online, it looked bright, modern, and beautiful. Unfortunately, our experience upon arrival was completely different. The hallways leading to the rooms were very dark and poorly lit. The carpets were extremely old and dirty; they looked as though they had not been properly cleaned or replaced for many years. The beds and mattresses were also uncomfortable. The bathroom was old and dirty, and the shower curtain was particularly dirty and appeared to need replacement. Another serious issue was that the toilet seat was loose. When using it, it slid to one side, which was both uncomfortable and concerning. Overall, we would rate this hotel only 1 star. In our opinion, it is not worth paying more than CAD $100 per night. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel to other travelers.

We had a wonderful stay at the Oriental Hotel and were extremely happy with both the hotel and the service. A special thank you to Ben Lu, who was incredibly kind, polite and helpful throughout our stay. He made us feel very welcome and took great care of us. We were also allowed a late check-out, which made our departure much more relaxed and was greatly appreciated. We were travelling as a group of four friends and had plenty of space in the room. The room itself was very clean, spacious and comfortable, with large windows and a beautiful view. Everything felt well maintained — there was no mold, no unpleasant smell and everything worked perfectly. In fact, even the hallway smelled very pleasant, almost like chamomile, which made the whole hotel feel fresh and welcoming. We also really appreciated the luggage service when we arrived. The elevators worked perfectly and the overall organization and service throughout the hotel were excellent. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our stay and would definitely recommend the Oriental Hotel. The combination of a great room, cleanliness, beautiful views and especially the friendly service from Ben Lu made our stay a very positive experience. We would happily stay here again.
