Ishinomaki Sunplaza Hotel

It's close to the station, and although there isn't a convenience store visible, it's only a 3-minute walk away. It's very convenient. It's quiet, so I can sleep well.

It's a regular business hotel. The single rooms are quite small. I used it to go to Cat Island (Tashirojima). The hotel front desk booked a taxi for me to go to the ferry (no taxi apps work).

This is a great hotel for a relaxed solo trip. It's perfect for using the hotel as a base for sightseeing in Ishinomaki. I stayed there without meals included, and it was a very relaxing stay.

The reception staff were polite, and I think the room and price are good. It's also close to the station, so I recommend it.

This hotel is convenient for solo travelers. Sightseeing around Ishinomaki City requires buses, trains, and ferries, so the Ishinomaki Sun Plaza Hotel's proximity to the station and port makes it convenient. The only downside is that most of the restaurants in front of Ishinomaki Station are izakayas, making it difficult to find a meal. Ishinomaki City's main street has moved to the street behind the station, so the only way to get a meal is by taxi or bus to Aeon Mall Ishinomaki. If you're staying overnight without breakfast, it's a good idea to buy rice balls or sandwiches at a convenience store. This is due to changes in the urban environment of Ishinomaki City, and is not the hotel's fault. After my trip, I thought the Ishinomaki City Tourism Department should have made it clear that there are few restaurants around Ishinomaki Station.

It's also close to Ishinomaki's downtown area, where you can enjoy local cuisine. The room was a little small, but sufficient for a single use.

I made a same-day reservation and other booking sites only allowed me to choose a smoking room, but I was able to request a non-smoking room via the trip.com app and actually stayed in a non-smoking room. The parking lot is located in front of the hotel building across the road, so it's close and convenient. The room had the minimum necessary facilities and was comfortable. The air conditioning seemed to be the same throughout the hotel and I could only choose the fan strength, so it felt a little hot, but I was able to adjust it by opening the window so it wasn't a problem. Being close to the restaurants in front of the station seemed like the biggest advantage.
