Manxin Mansion Beijing Qianmen Courtyard

This hotel is really unique! I was put on the second floor, and the courtyards are perfect for photos. There are also tons of great local eateries nearby. The service was super friendly and enthusiastic, and it's not too far from the subway station either.

This used to be Li Lianying's shop, now beautifully restored to its original glory. It gave me a deeper understanding of traditional courtyards (Siheyuan). The main house and side rooms perfectly embody the elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. The staff, both the ladies and gentlemen, were incredibly friendly and patient with our kids. It was a wonderful experience exploring Old Beijing with the family, and the location is fantastic.

A truly satisfying stay! Upon arrival, the friendly gentleman with glasses at the front desk warmly welcomed us and offered snacks and tea. We booked this hotel specifically for our child to experience a Beijing courtyard house, and it certainly didn't disappoint. The room had a charming, antique feel with a strong courtyard vibe, and the courtyard itself was very peaceful. The air conditioning was perfectly cool, and the bedding and hygiene were excellent – no hair or stains whatsoever. When we checked out, Deng from the front desk thoughtfully gave our child a private explanation of the courtyard's history, which they had missed earlier, and even gave us a souvenir. Zhang also kindly helped us with our luggage right to the door.

This is the largest suite in the hotel, and it's always fully booked. I only managed to snag it by pure luck! The overall facilities are very high-end, and the room layout has so many thoughtful touches. My child felt like they were on an adventure, constantly discovering little surprises. We also tried the cloisonné enamel activity, which my child thoroughly enjoyed.

Extremely satisfied! The front desk service was incredibly attentive and thoughtful; they even helped us with our luggage all the way to the intersection. The snacks and drinks available right outside the hotel were also plentiful, so we didn't really need to go out of our way to find Beijing's specialty foods. I originally wanted to book the Mandarin Oriental, but they didn't have enough rooms and it was quite expensive. After staying here, I feel it's a perfectly viable alternative to the Mandarin. Qianmen Street is right outside the entrance, with all sorts of century-old shops practically at your doorstep. The location is truly excellent. While the rooms aren't particularly luxurious, the Courtyard-style (Siheyuan) decor is spot-on, giving a strong sense of old Beijing. There was a minor incident where a school group staying at the hotel for the flag-raising ceremony got a bit excited early in the morning and ran around the hotel. However, the hotel staff apologized sincerely and proactively offered a breakfast discount, handling it very well. Plus, you can wear ancient costumes for free photos, which was a fantastic experience! If you don't take too many, there's no extra charge at all. Overall, this stay was absolutely perfect. I stayed at a Siheyuan (courtyard house) near Qianmen with my child and father, and it truly felt like quintessential Beijing! First off, the location is incredibly convenient. It's nestled in a hutong on Qianmen East Street, offering a quiet escape amidst the bustling city. A short walk around the corner takes you to Qianmen Pedestrian Street, and Dashilar is easily reachable on foot. Taking a taxi to Tiananmen or the Forbidden City costs just the minimum fare, which is a huge relief when traveling with elderly parents and children – no hassle at all. Secondly, the courtyard itself is absolutely charming. Stepping through the gate, you're greeted by a classic Old Beijing Siheyuan, with its grey bricks, dark tiles, and covered walkways, all centered around a large tree. In the morning, with the sun streaming into the courtyard, enjoying a bowl of congee feels incredibly leisurely. The room, though not large, is exquisitely designed, with comfortable bedding and a bathroom featuring a separate shower and toilet, complete with a smart toilet. Thirdly, the service was wonderfully attentive. The young lady at the front desk, seeing we had elderly parents and a child, proactively helped us with our luggage. Breakfast was abundant, and they even gave us a small gift when we checked out – excellent! Overall, if you want to experience an Old Beijing Siheyuan without compromising on comfort, this place is truly ideal. It's especially perfect for families traveling with parents and children, offering both charm and convenience.

There's a Manxin Hotel and a Manxin Mansion on Qianmen Street. I originally booked 2 nights at Manxin Mansion and 1 night at Manxin Hotel. They're only a few hundred meters apart. Manxin Hotel is right on Qianmen Street, while Manxin Mansion is in an alley, closer to the taxi stand. Later, since there was availability, I ended up staying all 3 nights at Manxin Mansion. The complimentary laundry service was fantastic – my clothes were washed, dried, and delivered to my room every day. They also offered unlimited Beibingyang soda, and even gave us cooling patches and ice water when we went out in the high temperatures. The room lighting was a bit dim, perhaps to create a specific ambiance. Highly recommend it; it's convenient for getting anywhere.

Service: The hotel staff were incredibly helpful. Due to traffic control, I had issues with taxis and parking before check-in, and they went above and beyond to help me find solutions without any hint of impatience. The check-in service was also very thoughtful and welcoming. Environment: It's a renovated hutong, which you could describe as a modern Chinese-style villa. The interior is very contemporary and clean. I really liked the complimentary amenity kit. The hotel breakfast was plentiful, and the asparagus with shrimp and the pork ribs with corn were delicious.
