Parador de Alarcon

Excellent hotel in a castle. Nice service and food. A great improvement to paradors since we stayed in them ,hopefully the rest are as good as this one .

Very nice castle experience and you will get the chance to go to the top to see a spectacular view. The dinner and breakfast is super delicious and worth of money. Staff are friendly and professional!

Alarcon is an absolutely amazing village, almost totally surrounded by the Rio Jucar and outlying fortifications. Imensely photogenic. This small Parador is in a stunning building, with amazing ambience, friendly staff and great food. We have stayed in a number of Paradores and this is our favourite. Our Junior Suite in the tower, with its own access to the battlements was a unique experience. Real Spain at its best!

Top notch stay! Staff was fantastic and very friendly and helpful even though we aren’t fluent in Spanish. Rooms were clean and modern feeling, very tasteful. The shower was great as well. Breakfast was the star of the show with an assortment of meats, cheeses, breads, fruits, yogurt, etc. The setting is magical and the surrounding town is really cool, too. Lots of places to hike around and explore. Really haven’t ever had another experience like this!

Highly recommendable. Fantastic historic building beautifully refurbished with great style to combine the charm of History (you have your breakfast in the old Refectory with large tapestries and a view, plus the option to go out in summer into the quiet courtyards) with all modern comforts. With an exquisite service and just five minutes from the Plaza Mayor. Spacious rooms with very good beds and very clean. Breakfast includes some typical dishes and, as is Paradores' trademark, you can't leave dissapointed

Excellent time here. We stayed in January it is definitely off season. We reserved the upgraded room, and was not disappointed, Our room had a huge window with a seating area embedded into the wall. A large bathroom with tub and shower. Ample hot water. A queen sized bed with red cloth draped over top. A mini bar with some beer and soda, (Extra) We asked reception where to take good photos and she handed us the key for the top of the guard wall! The hotel has a bar, and a restaurant, open for breakfast and dinner (and maybe lunch? We didn't check) We used the restaurant for breakfast, it was included. Which was great, not a buffet. You choose a main from a menu and they provided some meats and cheese tray. It was better than we expected, and amazing ambience. We had dinner in the restaurant. The atmosphere was excellent they had a fixed menu which had food we didn't want so we ordered a la carte, it was excellent. With a bottle of water and wine. It was 90 euros. So not low cost. But good value considering we were in a castle. We witnessed one guest who was angry because he couldn't find a quiet place to read, he felt the bar was too loud. And his room was too small. Our room was the only one on our floor of the main tower and was not small. chair. But we did notice that other floors had 2 rooms. So much smaller rooms exist. Our experience was great, we left happy, it is worth the drive to Alarcon!

We had a wonderful stay at the Parador Alarcon. The town itself is beautiful, with wonderful houses and amazing street art. The hotel is lovely-great service, good amenities and a bar and restaurant. So nice to have a bath to relax in rather than a shower, after a day exploring. Wonderful views from the Tower and magical with the mist around the watch tower early morning. Would definitely recommend.
