I understand that tourists are normally discriminated against in Japan, but this is way too obvious, especially if you accidentally bought the cheapest plan on trip.com. Foreigners will be greeted by working holiday workers who cannot speak in English. Staff English is like my Japanese level, but at least I can read and understand basic Japanese. Hygiene was terrible. There was the smell of cigarettes, dust, and stains everywhere. Even in the "higher-class" area, the carpet was dirty. Food was not good. You have to prepare you own. No need to buy the up-grade plan because they don't know how to cook. Bath was the only good thing here.

Clean Onsen. Good service. A bit remote but accessible. Not many choices for food. Ryokan Area is much better than Onsen Area.

I made a reservation because I wanted to try the famous standing bath. There was plenty of time reserved for women, which I was very happy about. I enjoyed all four baths and was impressed by the quality of the water. The facilities are old, but I think they are kept clean. I want to take another bath!

Since I was staying in the therapeutic bathing section, I didn't have high expectations for the facilities, so the room and environment were about what I expected. The refrigerator was in the shared kitchen for therapeutic bathing. The gas was the type where you insert 10 yen to use it ^_^ it was my first time experiencing that. I had meals included, so there were no problems. The rice was delicious, and although there weren't as many dishes as in a typical hot spring inn, I was satisfied. I felt that the side dishes were just the accompaniments around the rice. I was very satisfied with the meals. Of the four baths, the other three were cleaned up nicely, so I was personally dissatisfied. It's generally acceptable, though. Only the Shirozaru no Yu is a wonderful hot spring with old-fashioned charm. It's a mixed bath, but there are women's hours, so I went in 5 times during my 2-day stay. It's a hot spring by the river. Shirozaru no Yu is definitely worth visiting.

It was a two-day, one-night solo trip to a hot spring. Recently I've been staying at hot spring inns more often, so facilities and service are not subject to review. The hot springs lived up to my expectations and I was satisfied. There weren't many foreign tourists, so I was able to enjoy myself at a leisurely pace. However, it does get cold inside the inn at night, so you'll need to wear warm clothing when leaving your room. It would be great if there were more inns offering accommodation at this price. I hope they keep it up.

The hot springs are great, and the food is better than expected, but there is no air conditioning. If you come in summer, be careful. The hotel does not have independent toilets and bathrooms, and the sound insulation is also slightly poor.

For better or worse, I wouldn't recommend this place to people with obsessive-compulsive disorder. But the bath was amazing. The food was also simply delicious and unpretentious, so I was very satisfied.
