I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in August for my honey moon and also my friends wedding was here. I’ve stayed at many premium hotels and resorts all over the world, and given The Grand Furore’s price range I can say this was the worst. In summary, it is the most outrageously expensive and underwhelming experience with little to none of the things you would expect to justify its price tag. The hotel was about €1300 per night. - The morning breakfast was completely average, the coffee was just pod coffee. The pastries were excellent. The scrambled eggs would be if someone who had never made eggs before had made them. And they had the audacity to charge extra if you want eggs Benedict or different eggs. A cool €24 - €48 burger by the pool - not enough bottles of water, then charge you €8 for a bottle - gym with minimal facilities, outdoors with no aircon, tiny water cups to make sure you buy water from them for €8 - poor service around the pool - poor service at breakfast The hotel itself is stunning, and perched on the cliff top is beautiful. And has a really beautiful spa with sauna and cold lounge. I’ve stayed at some amazing resorts in the world that are similarly priced to this, One and Only Dubai, Alila in Bali, Andaz in Hawaii, and I’ve never been as disappointed as I have with this hotel. Originally I was tossing up between here and the Belmond Caruso and given I might never come to the Amalfi again I’m genuinely upset I stayed at this hotel. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.
