Conrad Urumqi

The Silk Road Pearl, a luxurious and culturally rich hotel – highly recommended! I specifically chose to stay two nights in Urumqi on this trip, and the biggest surprise was discovering Urumqi's top luxury hotel! From special service requests before arrival to the warm hospitality of every Conrad staff member upon arrival, I felt right at home! After the Northern Xinjiang Grand Loop, I truly realized this is the genuine warmth of the Xinjiang people!! Victoria, a lovely lady at the front desk, made our first interaction feel very friendly and familiar. Throughout her service, she was incredibly professional, taking us on a special cultural experience of Urumqi Conrad, thoughtfully arranging small gifts and souvenirs for us, which made us feel completely at home during our stay. Additionally, we met some excellent young men from the front office concierge team, who we all thought looked like 'Wang Junkai of Xinjiang'. They handled our luggage service from arrival to departure, saving us a lot of effort. The guest room was the cleanest and most meticulously tidied room I experienced on this trip to Xinjiang. During turn-down service, we even received roses and bath salts. The welcome fruits and dried fruits were very characteristic of Xinjiang. In the evening, we were also given Hotan rose dried flowers and sea buckthorn juice to drink – truly attentive to details! The bathroom style and mirrors resembled a beautiful stage dressing room, making one look exceptionally good! This was my first true experience of the brand's ethos of 'inspiration that extends beyond a stopover'. For breakfast, it was my first time seeing steak offered at breakfast, along with highly distinctive Xinjiang specialties like 'Gazi Rou' (pot meat), 'Sazi' (fried dough twists), and baked buns. For those short on time, you can experience all the signature Xinjiang delicacies here in one go! In terms of location, Meimei Department Store is just downstairs, and CC Mall, Xinjiang's trendy hotspot, is within a 10-minute taxi ride. The front desk also thoughtfully recommended the Hualing Market, an excellent wholesale market for local specialties, allowing us to purchase iconic Xinjiang souvenirs all in one place within our limited time. Finally, when checking out, an employee helped me carry my luggage downstairs. During our conversation, I learned that he was a long-time employee of the hotel. From this, I could sense his pride and sense of belonging to the brand and the hotel staff. A hotel with such human warmth and emotional depth is truly the most worthwhile place for travelers to stay. Conrad Urumqi, I'll be back next time!

Bettie, the front desk staff member who helped me check out, was excellent. She was not only warm but also highly efficient, assisting me with a follow-up billing issue. If I ever come back to Urumqi, I'll definitely choose Conrad Urumqi again, and Bettie!

The hotel has a great design, with patterns that reflect Xinjiang's unique character. The room was spacious, bright, and very clean. The service was excellent and attentive; they even asked about my preferences beforehand and followed up afterwards. They really pay attention to the details – the housekeeping staff even put away the extra pillows I wasn't using. It's a shame I slept in and missed breakfast. My friend really loved this hotel, and we'll definitely come back again if we get the chance.

I have to give a huge shoutout to Lucy! She genuinely remembers guests' little habits and meticulously decorates the rooms so adorably. This level of attention to detail and thoughtfulness is truly touching, making every stay feel like coming home. Absolutely outstanding!

The service was incredibly attentive, making me feel like a VIP from check-in to check-out. VIC at the front desk was professional and warm, and the entire front desk team was thoughtful and thorough, answering all my questions and even helping with food delivery. The room had a fantastic view and smart, convenient facilities. I'll definitely choose this place again next time! Especially the front desk staff, they were so professional and caring!

The service was incredibly thoughtful! The front desk agent, Vic, was so friendly and efficient during check-in, even asking about the room temperature. The room itself was comfortable and spotless, with great attention to detail. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in town, and I highly recommend Vic!

The hotel called in advance to confirm our needs. We mentioned having two kids and hoped to push the twin beds together. Upon arrival, we were told the beds couldn't be combined, but they offered a complimentary extra bed, which was a nice touch. Being able to check out late, at 3 PM, was also very convenient and appreciated. Plus, the hotel is right above MM Mall, which I believe is one of Urumqi's more upscale malls, making shopping and dining incredibly easy. The underground parking is connected to the mall, though parking spaces can be a bit tight.

Pros: The breakfast was very generous. Cons: 1. I'm baffled as to why the recurring issue of 'difficult parking and rude staff' in the parking lot, mentioned by so many guests, still hasn't been resolved. The parking attendants treat guests like animals, shooing them away. Even a budget hotel wouldn't have staff like this, let alone a Conrad! I paid 2000 for a night, wasn't I paying for service and comfort? 2. My parents were staying, and as they're older, I hoped the butler would be more proactive and helpful, but it still fell short of expectations. On our trips, whether in Beijing, Guizhou, Guangxi, or Sichuan, the butlers always actively offered experience options and reminded us of things to do and learn about. Only the Conrad butler was incredibly un-proactive; it was hard to tell who was the guest and who was the butler. Even worse, when the car's license plate wasn't registered for some unknown reason, we waited in the parking lot for 20 minutes before the butler finally helped register it. 3. There's no one to guide you to the sky lobby elevator or the check-in elevator. Today, my parents were checking in, and I had to video call them and guide them step-by-step. What about elderly guests without children? Are they supposed to wander around confused downstairs? If you don't have a concierge to direct guests, at least put up a clear sign! Where are your customer relations and concierge departments? 4. I've noticed that your responses to negative service reviews on Ctrip are uniformly perfunctory. I've also seen that you basically don't resolve the issues mentioned in the comments. I will be writing a letter of complaint to your headquarters. That's all.

The room was comfortable and the service was warm. We shared the underground parking lot with the mall, so there were plenty of parking spaces. The twin room was perfectly spacious for us with a child. The heating at night was quite warm, but it was even hotter at the other hotel we stayed at the day before, so I guess that's just how it is in winter here. You should probably bring short-sleeved ice silk pajamas if you're coming in winter 😂. The city view from the 37th floor was even better than from the room, and the breakfast was abundant! 😄 We also experienced the Executive Lounge benefits, including afternoon tea and happy hour, with exquisite and beautifully presented refreshments.
