Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees

The room was very clean with great facilities, and the environment was quiet so it didn't disturb my rest. It's quite close to nearby shopping spots and the subway station. Overall, a very good stay.

Spent the weekend with my kids in Hong Kong for a concert at Kai Tak and looked for a relatively nearby hotel (Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees), which is about a 10-minute walk in a straight line 🚶‍♀️. We mainly chose it after comparing online reviews, which were quite good. It's convenient in every aspect (surrounding food options and transportation), moderately priced, and offers great value for money. We arrived a little before 3 PM on the day of check-in, and quite a few guests were already in line. The hotel lobby isn't large, but it was very orderly, with staff members guiding guests to use the self-service check-in kiosks. The front desk staff who assisted us were extremely warm and thoughtful, answering all our questions with great patience. Moving on to the room—although we knew that space is at a premium in downtown Hong Kong and rooms are generally small, it was actually quite nice (larger than expected), very clean, and free of any odors. It was also quite quiet with good soundproofing. The bed 🛏️ was very comfortable to sleep in (that's what my child said first thing in the morning). If we attend another concert in the future, we would definitely book Harbour Plaza 8 Degrees again.

Second time staying here, still great! Facilities: Great, spacious rooms. Cleanliness: Clean and tidy, very, very comfortable to stay in. Location: Lots of food options nearby, very convenient transportation. Service: Excellent and very satisfying attitude, highly recommended. Anyone visiting Hong Kong should stay here.

The room was very clean, and the air conditioner and dehumidifier had been turned on in advance. I stayed at this hotel again because of a concert at the nearby Kai Tak. I saw the same gentleman at the front desk as before, and he was very welcoming~ I arrived early this time. After the receptionist took my details, she saw a room was ready and let me check in at 12:30. I was so happy to be able to take a nap. P.S. There is a 7-Eleven nearby where you can buy water and breakfast. There's an authentic Cantonese restaurant just to the right as you exit, open until 10 PM.

For a hotel in Hong Kong, this room is considered relatively spacious. However, it was very humid, though the hotel provided a dehumidifier (I emptied a full tank of water myself right after checking in). One of the fluorescent tubes was broken, but maintenance came to replace it promptly after I reported it. The shower curtain was moldy, and they replaced it with a new one when I pointed it out (I hope the hotel can check these hygiene details before guests check in). I requested a high floor in the booking notes, but the front desk gave me a room on the 2nd floor. I only got a room on a higher floor after speaking up and asking for it.

I booked this hotel because I was going to a concert nearby, but it turns out there's still quite a walk to the venue, and part of it is a bit of a small lane. The hotel is also a ten-minute walk from the nearest subway station, which isn't very convenient. The hotel facilities are incredibly bad. It's clearly a converted residential building. There isn't even an outlet by the bed, the room is dim, and directly opposite is a factory. The facilities are very old and outdated, and there's a huge barrier.
