Shangri-La Mactan, Cebu

Just so-so. It's a very dated hotel. Not many fish for snorkeling, and the water is too shallow for swimming. If you want to swim, go to the pools—there are two large ones, but they're just okay. It is close to the beach, but the beach itself was worse than expected. In the afternoon, the room felt stuffy so I opened the balcony door without turning off the AC, and condensation ended up covering the entire room with water. I had to call the front desk several times before they finally agreed to change my room. At first, they gave me a 2nd-floor room with a terrible view. Later, they moved me to the 5th floor, which was a bit better. The room on the 2nd floor didn't even have carpet! I have no idea why they gave me such an awful room in the first place when there were clearly better rooms available. The breakfast was mediocre, nothing special—just very basic. Maybe I set my expectations too high after reading the good reviews, but I never expected it to be this bad. I won't be staying here again!

The common areas and beach environment are nice, but the room facilities are a bit old and the soundproofing is very poor. However, the service is quite good compared to other local hotels.

Shangri-La Mactan, Cebu, despite being an older hotel, is still absolutely fantastic. For me, the 'soft' aspects of a hotel, especially the staff's attitude, are more important than the 'hard' facilities, and Shangri-La Mactan truly delivers on that front!

The environment here is great! You can even snorkel right off the hotel beach and see coral and clownfish. Plus, there's a free shuttle to Cebu city. The breakfast, however, was just okay, nothing special, and not very tasty. It was mostly Korean and Japanese style, and it got really crowded; after 9:30 AM, you'd basically have to queue up.

The room decor feels quite dated, with the bathroom and various furnishings showing their age and a slight musty smell. The air conditioning automatically turns off when the balcony door is opened. The external environment is relatively good, with a park and a beach available. The pool is also well-designed, helping to distribute people. There's a 'naughty bag' (play area) suitable for different age groups of children, which requires a fee, though hotel guests receive a discounted rate. Breakfast gets very crowded, so expect to queue. Overall, it's suitable for a family vacation. However, if you have high expectations for the accommodation experience, you might want to choose a newer hotel.

The spacious pool, delicious breakfast, and various activities were all fantastic, and the staff were incredibly kind. I'm very satisfied and would love to visit again.
