Soulshine Resort Ubud

The Soulshine staff was amazing! Accommodating, friendly, & service requests were done promptly. The garden rooms, however, do not look like the pictures from the website. We stayed 3 nights, & on the last night we were upgraded to a nicer room, which was beautiful. The acoustics in the room did not work, but we didn’t mention it. The food in the restaurant was very good, tasted fresh & the prices were not over the top. The breakfast buffet was delicious, & had many different dishes/options. The free morning yoga session was fabulous, as it was just my daughter & myself. The club had no one in it during the evening and the pools were mostly empty. If you prefer a low key, restful getaway, this is a beautiful place to vacation.

The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, always doing their best to make you feel comfortable. The hotel is excellent, with a beautiful atmosphere that truly captures the spirit of Bali.

“Welcome Home” - that’s what they say but it feels like “Welcome to an American Hotel”. It never felt like home because for anything we asked for it felt like they showed us a price list. Here are some facts: 1. The property has hardly any activities, as the social media says. Everything is a menu with a high price tag. 2. Even though we paid for 2 nights stay, we were not allowed for any activities on day 1. They said it needs 24 hours booking prior. Well no one even asked for it 24 hours earlier. 3. It was my GF birthday and they said they will provide a cake next day. Same day only a slice is possible. Next day, the housekeeping staff said that no cake is possible. Finally, they sent a slice of cake that was like days old. 4. Breakfast- don’t even get me started. It is the worst in Bali. Almost no vegetarian options. They don’t even have a juice. Well, let me clarify- the juice is only for retreats and not for house guests. 5. Room service- worst! You ask for water or tea and it comes after 4-5 reminders and at least 4 hours. My recommendation to the owner- get out of your American dream and get around Bali to know how hotels are run and what actual service means. Arty hotel doesn’t mean lack to basic service design.

This hotel was surprise for us. We were there twice. Everything is lovely, fill like you are coming to friends. Also yoga practice, spa and Dj music every evening are cool. So i have to say about restaurant! Foods were delicious and healthy.
