Hiiragiya Ryokan

A delightful Inn with charming and very helpful staff. The dinner and breakfast could only be described as delicious and scrumptious . A great variety of food was served in our room. Then table was cleared Futons laid out and we drifted off to an excellent night’s sleep. The boathouse in the Inn has a double wooden tub for a delightfull soak after a scrubbing

I cannot put in the correct date. I actually stayed in this in the 1990s! It was absolutely wonderful – the best place I ever stayed in Japan, and I have been to a lot of places because I lived in Japan for five years. Hiiragiya was a very special experience. I remember that the food we ate was from every prefecture in Japan, and each item tasted amazing! I now live in California, but started reminiscing about this place as an international student who is from Kyoto, is participating in a language exchange with my family. Hiiragiya came up in our conversation, and I looked up this inn Here on the Internet. I thought I should leave a review since after 35 years. I still have special memories of staying at this place.

We loved every minute of our stay. The staff was warm and friendly, the room was lovely, comfortable and clean and the food was exceptional. Thank you for a terrific visit.
