Hotel Villa Rosario, Palacete

Worst stay we had. Their advertising of air conditioning is fraud and we cannot sleep all night. The staff seem to be aware of it guess they receive lots of complaints and they provide us with a fan. Not helping at all to cool down. Don’t go their in summer months. We were there end of june 2024. Cannot sleep at all!!

After nearly 5 weeks away from home this would be our favourite hotel. Charming character building, lovely room with a balconey, great location & on the seafront. One of the best breakfasts ever - served to order & a real treat.

A mixed review, some good, some bad… Superb looking old building with car parking across the road by their new building. Right on the seafront promenade. The Room was good and clean, but no spare sockets for charging phones etc. Nor were there any hooks to hang coats. Also more storage space (drawers) would have been useful. Attached to hotel is a Michelin Starred restaurant (Ayalga) where you have breakfast, but you have to go outside to get to it from the hotel - umbrellas are provided at the hotel. Breakfast was interesting!!!. On the first two days we had someone that couldn’t remember what was ordered despite writing it down. It was fun to guess who was going to get what. On the 3rd day, the main server was excellent – only a couple of errors. On the last day, there were 3 young people being trained who did very well. The hotel reception staff are fine and helpful but they should make eye contact more often and be first to say good morning/ hello whenever anyone entered / left / came down the stairs.

Didn’t live up to expectations. Lovely building from outside but our room looked directly onto roof and windows of new restaurant . Other available rooms also had buildings so close. Felt as though every saving had been made in lots of ways..Breakfast very limited and small portions. Staff tried to be helpful.

King bed was just two twins pushed together. Sheets and comforters were twins as well.

Arrival at Villa Rosario was seamless and we simply drove into the underground garage across the road, straight into the same space we used last year. Check in was friendly and the hotel just seems to have a really welcoming atmosphere. Our Executive room (no 2) is on the ground floor and very nice indeed. It is large, beautifully furnished and has a gorgeous en-suite. The hotel has a lounge area as well as places to relax on the front porch and garden. Breakfast here is excellent and emphasises the importance Villa Rosario places on quality service. Right away you are greeted by the team of waiting staff who look smart yet casual in matching navy blue suits with white tee-shirts and trainers. The food was excellent and beautifully presented and we enjoyed fresh fruit, tostada con tomate y aceite, perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, a selection of cheeses, fresh bread and cakes. On subsequent mornings I switched to bacon and fried eggs which also hit the spot perfectly. We travel a lot and have no hesitation in saying that Villa Rosario is one of our favourite hotels. It is classy without being formal,and is just a lovely place to stay. We are looking forward to our next visit already!
