1. Service: The service was excellent, though waiting for my luggage and car at checkout took a bit long, almost an hour. Otherwise, everything was great. 2. Room: The room was spacious and fantastic with a very elegant architectural style. They provided complimentary champagne, chocolates, macarons, and fresh fruit. After dinner, they even placed slippers by the bed. 3. Activities: There are free water activities like snorkeling, glass-bottom boat tours, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding, but you need to sign up in advance. You can also enjoy a free spa and sauna experience. 4. Facilities: Water, fruit, and sunscreen refills were readily available by the beach. 5. Dining: The breakfast buffet was extensive. For dinner, there were several restaurant options; the French restaurant we tried on the second night was particularly delicious.

The location is good, but the hotel is built along the beach, so it's a long walk to get anywhere. You have to call a car for every entry and exit, and you'll wait a long time! The hotel has an older, more traditional style, and it's quite dated. You have to switch lights on and off individually, and the furniture is old. On check-out day, our room key stopped working at 11 AM. We had to wait over 10 minutes for someone to open the door, and they wouldn't allow a late check-out. We went to breakfast once, and it was completely full with no empty tables, so we ended up sitting at a small table by the pool. The staff seemed rushed, and you even had to order your own fried eggs. Most of the restaurants are bad! The Indian restaurant was both expensive and unappetizing. My wife took one bite of the tiramisu in the picture and almost threw up 🤮. All in all, the overall experience was very mediocre and not worth the 5000+ per day price. I'd recommend avoiding this place!

The service met expectations and was very attentive. Our room had a direct sea view, and we even got to see a stunning sunset. If you're opting for meals, I highly recommend the Asian restaurant, Floating Market, as it's more suited for Asian tastes. The seafood restaurant, Boathouse, is also good, but the buffet restaurant is quite ordinary. All drinks and alcohol incur extra charges. For visiting Casela Nature Park and whale watching, I suggest staying in the southwest. We were lucky enough to see whales and dolphins!

Overall, it was excellent! The environment was lovely, the scenery was beautiful, and the facilities were very comprehensive. We booked two meals. The breakfast buffet was extensive, and we could even ask the staff for takeout boxes to bring food back to our room. One day, we packed some fruit to enjoy on the beach while sunbathing. For dinner, there were four restaurants where we could eat for free. The Southeast Asian restaurant mainly served Chinese, Singaporean, and Malaysian dishes. The naan at the Indian restaurant was delicious. The seafood restaurant offered tiger prawns. At these three restaurants, each person could order one appetizer, one main course, and one dessert. Since we don't care for desserts, after getting to know a waiter, we arranged to swap our dessert for an extra main course. Another day, we swapped it for beer. The other dinner restaurant was a buffet, which was very rich and mainly featured seafood like squid, shrimp, crab, pasta, and so on. The sea view was great, but the sand on the beach was a bit coarse and hurt our feet a little. The hotel also offered various free water activities. There was a glass-bottom boat to see fish, free snorkeling equipment rentals, paddleboards, and two-person pedal boats for fun on the sea. You just needed to book these activities in advance, and they were all free. The hotel also had a cinema, a billiard room, a library, and game consoles. On specific days of the week, there were African dance performances and live band shows, so you'd never get bored. There were relatively few Chinese tourists at the hotel. During our 6-night stay, we only encountered two Chinese people. Most guests were European and American tourists, many with children. Upon check-in, there was a welcome letter in the room. By scanning the WhatsApp QR code on the letter, we could add a butler. We could communicate any needs directly with the butler via messages, avoiding miscommunication issues over the phone. It also solved the problem of booking dinner tables at restaurants every day. On my last day, I had to leave for the airport at 4:30 AM and wouldn't be able to have breakfast. I communicated with the butler in advance to exchange my last day's breakfast for lunch on the previous day, and the butler arranged it. When the waiter at the restaurant initially said it wasn't possible, I simply showed them the chat log, and the issue was perfectly resolved. If you're going out for whale watching or other activities and leave early before the breakfast restaurant opens, you can also inform your butler in advance to have breakfast packed, and the staff will deliver some bread and fruit to your room. Overall, it was quite good, but there were many mosquitoes, and the mosquito repellent from home didn't work. The hotel restaurants did have mosquito repellent available.

I stayed here during my honeymoon over the Chinese New Year, and the more I think about it, the angrier I get. I really need to get this off my chest. Honestly, the room and the environment were impeccable; they lived up to the name and the price. However, something absolutely outrageous happened during our stay. It was around midnight, a while after I had taken a bath. The front desk called our room, saying there was a water leak downstairs and they needed to come up and check. I refused, as we were already asleep. Not long after, they called again, saying the person was already there. Twice, at 12 AM. Then, the second issue: they came into our room to check again while we were still checked in, before check-out. We were disturbed repeatedly, with absolutely no apology or compensation. This service is utterly ridiculous.

The hotel is relatively new, and most of its facilities and services are good. The only issue was with one of the bellhops – his service was a bit awkward, and he seemed displeased when he left after delivering the luggage, possibly because he didn't receive a tip, and didn't even close the door. The cleanliness could also be improved with a bit more attention to detail.

As a 5 star hotel and the high room rate, the service of this hotel is not up to the standard. Most of staff in the restaurants have bad faces, n some of the receptionists at the front desk are not helpful. I have asked for a late check out owing to the late flight n poor weather condition with cyclone approaching, a fat lady at the front desk told me that we have to respect to the check out policy n she cannot even allow only 1 hour of late check out (pls note the check out time is 11am which is earlier than most of the other resorts n hotels in Mauritius). Other housekeeping staff n bellboys are nice, the butler is also helpful but u have to find out all the information via their app/QR code. Although there are not too many guests in the hotel, they will ask u to make reservation for the dinner instead of walk in. On top of all the above, the hotel’s cleanliness is a concern, 1 night I found a very big cockroach hidden at the back of minbar. It was so scary that I couldn’t sleep well that night. For the pros, it has a very long beach line with clear water. It has a lot of facilities including library, game room, cinema, gym, water sports, 2 swimming pools n more restaurants with different cuisines than other hotels. I chose it bcz it is ranked as a gourmet hotel but I found that the food is just fair. In conclusion, I won’t pick this hotel for its average service n cleanliness with a very high room rate.

JW Marriott Mauritius is literally like heaven on earth. From the services to the food, everything was impeccable 👌! We loved our stay here. Kids had so much to do too. We didn't leave the resort for any sightseeings. We enjoyed everything about this place. Will highly recommend honeymooners to consider this place for your honeymoon. Really really had a great time here! They also surprised me with a birthday set-up in my room. The butler service was really great too. The buggy will pick us up to send us to anywhere we want. Will truly miss this place when we get back home. Hope to come back here again someday.
