The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali

The beachfront Westin is a more traditional resort hotel. It's not particularly outstanding, and the facilities are a bit dated, but it meets most needs. It's quite close to the airport, which is convenient for departure. It feels like there are several pools, making it more suitable for families with children. The Ikan restaurant by the sea has excellent food, much more to our taste than the one at Anantara. Plus, the Bali Collection, which is like a small outlet mall, is within walking distance. It’s great for a casual stroll and a meal. We also went to Zahar Spa for a massage; the pick-up and drop-off service was very convenient, and the massage offered great value for money.

The kids' club was great, but there wasn't a suitable pool for a five-year-old; 60cm was too shallow, and 100cm was too deep. A Grab ride to Kuta for dinner cost about 120,000 IDR one-way. Taking the toll road over the sea was really fast, only about 15 minutes. The breakfast spread was extensive, but the taste wasn't really suited for Chinese palates, though European guests seemed to enjoy it a lot.

The first day was generally good, but on the second day, it rained and the room leaked. The staff put a bucket down to catch the water but didn't come back to check on it. The bathroom mat wasn't replaced even though it was wet, so the service was just okay. Breakfast was better with a good variety of choices.

Facilities: The in-room facilities are all new, and the bed is very comfortable. Although the room isn't large, the design is well-thought-out. The small patio on the ground floor is also quite pleasant, offering direct access outside. Cleanliness: The room's cleanliness was decent, but the public areas were just average due to too many people. Environment: The environment was just so-so. The pool had a strange smell, probably because it was too crowded. Service: Most of the staff provided great service, but the female attendant leading people at the breakfast entrance was a bit mean... she didn't even respond when spoken to.

The hygiene was excellent. Both the hotel's pool and beach were fantastic, and the staff were very welcoming. My check-in and check-out experiences were smooth, and the breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options.
