Hampton Inn Waterbury

Not aware that rooms not cleaned daily.  Should be mentioned when checking in.

Very good and very convenient

The room was mercifully nice, clean, and functioning, but hooo boy this hotel... First of all apparently the communication between ******* and the hotel is terrible, because while I adjusted the date of my stay on *******, it did NOT translate to the hotel system. The front desk man repeatedly told me how the error was NOT HIS FAULT and IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME and it's all on *******. I was told to call ******* and had a 30 MINUTE wait until it was resolved eventually between being passed around on the phone. Meanwhile the A/C is non existent in the lobby and I'm having a sweaty old time. The guy did give us cold water bottles which was nice. The hotel is "currently under renovations" but I have a feeling that it's been like this. The breakfast area is torn up. The lobby tables are all wobbling. He gives us a 4th floor room because you can't use the 3rd floor via elevator because THAT is broken. The hotel pool was green. "It's under weekly maintenance, should be ready in an hour" they say... 3 days later it was still like that. Also the one main driveway had caution tape across it and was busted up forcing you to use the weird long side driveway. Breakfast was adequate though?

Breakfast was not good. Eggs omelette was old and hard. Coffee was barely warm. Tried hot water for Tea and it was the same. Whole breakfast was disappointing.

First of all, I have stayed in the Hampton Inn before and really liked it. When I first arrived, I thought the hotel was closed because the entrance was blocked off and it looled abandoned. I drove a little further and found another entrance. As before, the staff was wonderful and the room was clean and comfortable. The bed, however, was not - it was not firm or supportive. The minute I sat on the bed, I could feel the "guts" of it and it felt like hard coils or wires. On Day 2, the elevator was broken with no sign posted. I walked, with my four year old granddaughter and our laundry, all the way from room 328 to the elevators, only to realize it was never coming. We walked all the way back towards our room and down 3 flights of stairs - and the same thing happened again this morning only THIS TIME we were checking out, so I had two pieces of luggage and four bags and my granddaughter - back down three flights of stairs to the lobby. As a side note, in a hotel definitely not jam-packed with people, someone put a family of loud-mouths next door to us. Through the connecting door I could hear banging until 10 at night and yelling (not talking) to each other about all kinds of nonsense. They woke us up at 7 am when I thought we might get to sleep until at least 8. I don't understand why people had to be placed on top of us when the entire bui

Nice staff, clean rooms, and good breakfast, wish they had turkey sausage, because not everyone eats pork.

This hotel is so old and in desperate need of a renovation. Our room was very warm and humid and we were told they could not turn on the ac. The humidity was causing so much condensation on the toilet that it was dripping on the floor and causing puddles around the toilet. So gross. Although the staff was apologetic, there is not much they can do when the owners do not want to spend money to update. Although it was not a nice hotel, it is still better that the Courtyard down the road.

Friendly staff, parking was great & room was clean! Included breakfast was good also!! Our second time staying there. Were accommodating to our late check in.
