Guanlan | Baima Resort feels like a hidden mountain retreat—a cozy secret hideaway tucked away in the hills that’s well worth taking your time to soak in. Dappled sunlight filters through during the day, a crackling wood fire keeps you warm at night, and the evening sky opens up to a stunning, starry Milky Way🌌✨. There's a furry “lobby manager” named Peak🐶 who is an absolute superstar. My kid even called out his name in her sleep and said she had the best time here. The property features a sprawling lawn, fruit orchards, and vegetable gardens, plus a whole crew of friendly animals: Peak🐶, cats🐱, ducks🦆, horses🐴, and white peacocks🦚. Right next to the resort is a riverbank perfect for a leisurely stroll, or you can have the staff arrange a bamboo raft ride for you.

The village is very quiet, and you can rent an electric scooter for 20 yuan a day. This guesthouse is probably the most beautiful in the whole village, very comfortable, with gorgeous bougainvillea. Just chilling here is wonderful. The room has a bathtub, it's spacious and bright, and most importantly, it's very clean. They offer a rich breakfast every day, afternoon tea, and a goodnight drink before bed. The small kitchen's cooking is also quite good, and they are very honest – they'll even tell you beforehand if their crispy chicken isn't as crispy as outside, which shows sincerity. The egg pancakes are very substantial, made with generous and solid ingredients. In the evening, there's an outdoor movie. Thank you to the owner for being so thoughtful; I will definitely come again. If I had one suggestion, it would be to improve the quality of the cakes for afternoon tea or simply replace them with something else.

This isn't one of those cookie-cutter, Instagram-famous guesthouses; it feels more like a quiet sanctuary hidden away in the mountains and fields of Xingping. A complimentary pickup service is provided upon check-in, and the hotel can also help arrange scooter rentals, making it very convenient to explore the surrounding area. We stayed in a courtyard private hot spring room. We had the butler lead a white horse right into the courtyard, and in the evening, soaking in the private hot spring while watching the sky slowly darken helped me completely unwind. Aside from the white horse, the lobby manager is a Westie named Peek. The hotel also keeps call ducks and white peacocks, giving the courtyard a vibrant, lively atmosphere. Best of all, it's pet-friendly, so you can bring your own furry friends along. The room is equipped with a Dyson hairdryer, and the bedding is very comfortable. The Guilin rice noodles at breakfast are also authentic and delicious.

The butler service was extremely warm and attentive, and the room amenities were top-notch—they even provided Tempo napkins! The quality of the toothpaste and toothbrush was also exceptionally good. It's rare to find a hotel that pays this much attention to detail. The location is fantastic, just a few steps away from the riverside. It's also very pet-friendly with lots of activities. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Xingping, Yangshuo.

An exceptionally beautiful hotel and the top choice for a relaxing getaway in Yangshuo. Right across the river from Xianggong Mountain, it's not far from the scenic spot featured on the back of the 20 RMB note, and just a 20-meter walk leads to the river beach and the most stunning hiking trail. The animals at the property are adorable and so friendly—great for petting and perfect if you're traveling with kids. A special shout-out to the owner and the young hosts/butlers; their service was top-notch, they were always responsive, and very easy to talk to. A truly wonderful hotel, and I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Yangshuo.

A truly wonderful experience! This guesthouse, located right by the Li River, offers a peaceful retreat despite being close to attractions. They even had a bonfire party in the evening, showed movies for the kids, and provided free BBQ, which created a fantastic atmosphere. We had all our meals at the hotel, and the food was excellent.

The biggest surprise of this Yangshuo trip was the Guanlan Hotel. Tucked away amidst the mountains of Xingping, it offers peace and quiet, escaping the crowds of the ancient town. The architectural design is aesthetically pleasing, with every step in the public areas offering a picturesque view, perfect for photos. The rooms are spacious, fully smart, and thoughtfully detailed. The service is butler-style and very responsive, able to assist with arranging bamboo rafts and electric bikes. The food was a delightful surprise; the Guilin rice noodles for breakfast were authentic, and there were afternoon tea and evening desserts. The rooftop pool directly faces the karst mountains. In the evening, the lawn bonfire and outdoor cinema create a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. It's not far from the spot featured on the 20 Yuan banknote, making it ideal for those who enjoy a slow-paced vacation and immersive experience of the Li River's landscapes.

Environment: The guesthouse has a wonderful setting, surrounded by nature and great for taking photos. Just a few steps outside, you'll reach the Li River where you can see bamboo rafts—it's very picturesque. Service: Overall service was great. Afternoon tea, late-night snacks, and BBQ were all complimentary. The owner also set off fireworks for a really long time, which was a lovely experience. Location: First of all, Yangshuo is a tourist county, and the guesthouse is located quite deep inside, making transportation inconvenient. It's a long way from the Yulong River bamboo rafting area. Note: The driver who picked us up at first kept trying to scare us, saying that going to the Yulong River area was very far, that taking a taxi was inconvenient, and tried to rent his own car to us, which made us very anxious. We later found out that the driver wasn't affiliated with the guesthouse 😂😂😂. Privacy: Poor privacy. We booked a room with a courtyard soaking tub, but every day people would freely walk into our courtyard with their shoes on and step around in the tub. The large sliding door connecting the tub and the room was also broken and could be pulled right open. While we were using the soaking tub, another guest flew a drone right above our tub to record videos—absolutely terrible, and no one stopped them 😂😂😂. Cleanliness: The swimming pool had moss ~ there were uncleaned corners and limescale in the room, a slightly damp smell, the curtains looked a bit old, and the electric curtains seemed to be broken. According to the promotional material, rooms were supposed to come with an "Acre of Flower Fields" souvenir gift, but we stayed for two days and didn't receive any.

If you, like me, dislike the city's hustle and bustle and are looking for a peaceful escape, this is the perfect place to simply unwind. Just 100 meters behind the guesthouse, you'll find the Li River riverside trail at Yangdi, designated by *National Geographic China* as one of the top ten classic routes. Unlike the cookie-cutter guesthouses in Yangshuo, here you can enjoy all your meals surrounded by mountains, truly feeling the genuine warmth of the owner and everyone here.
