Staying at Qinglan Cave Style Hotel genuinely felt like stepping into another world. Perched right along the edge of Erhai Lake on the eastern shore, the bright white, organic architecture instantly gives off a Santorini-like cliffside vibe. The panoramic lake views and dramatic sunsets against the Cangshan Mountain backdrop are unbeatable—it’s the kind of picturesque atmosphere where you just want to slow down and take everything in. The room itself was an absolute highlight, especially the in-room hot tub. I wasn’t expecting it to be so massive—it practically felt like a mini swimming pool! While getting it filled up takes a bit of patience given its size, soaking in the warm water while looking straight out over the lake made the wait completely worth it and wrapped up the whole luxury escape. The only real trade-off to keep in mind is its location. Situated over in the Wase/Haidong area, it is roughly an hour’s DiDi ride (around 50 km) away from Dali Ancient City on the west bank. If you’re planning to head into the main historic streets or dining hubs every day, the back-and-forth commute adds up. That said, if your main goal is total relaxation, incredible photos, and a truly unique stay, the peaceful views far outweigh the travel distance. I'd definitely recommend splitting your trip—a couple of nights here for the resort experience and a couple of nights on the west bank for convenience!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Dali! Thank you so much for the complimentary room upgrade from the first floor to the second floor because our original room was a little noisy. We really appreciated your thoughtfulness and excellent hospitality. The service was outstanding. Whenever we needed anything, the staff responded quickly and brought it to our room with a smile. Everyone was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel has beautiful views, and the rooftop is one of the highlights! There are so many great photo spots, including the swing, the Sky Ladder, the famous “Dali” sign, and many other picturesque decorations. It’s the perfect place to take memorable photos. The breakfast was another highlight. It was delicious, fresh, and healthy, with a great variety of options to start the day. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Dali!

That was the first hotel of our trip. It has a big bath inside my type of room. It was very relaxing to sit in the bath with a view on Erhai lake. However this hotel is far from the city. And it's very costly to use a taxi every time. If I come to this city again, I would use a rental car.

There are too many good things about this hotel. 1:) The staff is super cooperative and helpful. Always on their toes to assist you. 2:) The rooms are massive with modern facilities 3:) They provided us EV charging for free which help us to keep our car charged while staying with them 4:) Their rooftop is like a photographic zone where each setup is perfect for Instagram pictures 5:) They have washing machines in each room with the detergent which makes it very easy to stay for longer with them. 6:) For us, the property which is friendly to our dog was the main requirement , they are super friendly with the pets and do not charge any extra money for it ( Unlike santorini which charge 200 YUAN per pet per stay ) Initially we booked only for 1 night but end up staying 3 nights here. Highly recommended.
