Hilton Waikoloa Village

First off, the front desk service was quite mediocre. The room was really far – after getting off the elevator, it felt like a hundred-meter walk to reach it. It was advertised as a sea view room, but it was actually a partial sea view. The towels in the room were dirty with colored stains. The worst part was the toilet seat, which was filthy with unidentifiable liquid that hadn't been cleaned – absolutely dreadful. The hotel facilities themselves were decent, with a water park. However, they kept two dolphins, which I found to be very unfriendly to animals, as their pool was tiny.

The room was clean and the view was fantastic! However, the bed wasn't made, and the amenities were very basic.

If I had to pick the best part of this stay, it would definitely be the **'Dolphin Quest'** experience within the resort! It was truly amazing to see dolphins right before my eyes in the large lagoon within the hotel, without having to take a boat out far. It’s a program where you get to interact closely with the dolphins, and it was such a joyful time, not just for the kids but for me as an adult, making me feel like a child again. This special experience alone boosted my satisfaction with the accommodation by 200%.

The room was spacious, but a bit dated. There were two water bags available, but the inner and outer layers of the protective bags had sticky residue, which was a bit off-putting. One of the twin beds faced a mirror, which is considered bad Feng Shui for Asians. The hotel also had a lot of Asian-themed decor (like Guanyin and Buddha statues) scattered around, which felt a little spooky when checking in at night. However, the room had a nice view. I recommend staying in the Makai Tower as it's closer to the hotel's amenities.

It was good, but it was difficult to get my requests across and I had to repeat myself several times.

The renovated Palace Tower facilities are clean and nice, but it's really far. It was tough because the tram boat wasn't running. The hotel staff also seemed to leave in the evening, as they didn't answer calls and my requests were so slow I ended up canceling them.

Don't ever say Makai is close to the lobby again. Its proximity doesn't excuse how dirty and old it is. The rooms are genuinely too old and filthy. The bathroom was covered in dust, water stains, and leftover toothpaste from previous guests. The showerhead was black and yellow – truly disgusting. I later went to the front desk and got moved to a newly renovated Palace Tower room, which opened late last year. While the cleanliness there was still questionable, at least the room itself was new, and it was only a 10-minute walk to the front desk. It's definitely better than staying in such an old and dirty Makai room. It's truly foolish to stay in such a disgusting Makai room just for the so-called sea view.

One of those hotels you absolutely *must* stay at. It offers art, culture, family-friendly activities, nature, animal interactions, gardens, lush greenery, and both sea and mountain views... The only downside is that it can get a bit crowded, otherwise, it's perfect!
