My husband and I came to Da Nang for the summer and chose this hotel for its proximity to the beach and the option for a long-term stay. About a month into our stay, I started noticing that small amounts of money—ranging from $20 to $40—were disappearing from my room. Since our family was visiting and we had exchanged quite a bit of cash, I initially brushed it off, thinking we had spent it without realizing. However, over the next few weeks, the missing money became more frequent, so I began suspecting the cleaning crew, as they were the only ones who regularly had access to our room when we weren’t around. One day, I counted my money and placed it in the drawer under some clothes, then requested the room to be cleaned. When we returned a few hours later, another $40 was gone. That’s when I became certain that the cleaning staff was taking it. The next day, I decided to set up a camera aimed at the drawer, leaving just $30 in small bills to see if the cleaner would take it again. Sure enough, the next day after cleaning, the staff member went straight for the drawer, checked the money, saw the small amount, and then put it back and covered it up. I immediately went to the receptionist and asked her to contact the hotel owner. She assured me that we would hear back that day, but nothing came of it. We then filed a police report, and I was told the cleaner would be questioned the next day. We checked out of the hotel that same day and waited for some kind of follow-up. However, we never received any response from the hotel, the police seemed to vanish, and the cleaner continued working there without consequence. I want to warn others to be cautious if considering a stay at this hotel. Best of luck to everyone!
