James Place Inn Bed and Breakfast

This is our third stay, our first with new innkeepers Sean and Charlie. They have stayed true to the outstanding hospitality provided by Bill and Mary Ann! Sean is an amazing cook and each breakfast was delicious and abundant. Not to mention his warm, friendly demeanor...smiling from the moment we pulled in the driveway! The Inn is clean and lovely with an easy walk into town for shopping and dining. We hope to return in 2027!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the James Place Bed and Breakfast. Bill and Mary are tremendous hosts, Bill met us at our late arrival and helped us get our bags to our room. He familiarized us with the Inn and morning routine. Breakfast was flavorful, ginger waffles, sausage and blueberry scones. We could even take the leftovers! We stayed in the Blue Room. Well maintained and clean. This might not seem like much of a compliment but this seems to be low priorities for some innkeepers. Recommend for anyone considering a stay in the Freeport area. Also, Freeport only 30 minutes from Portland and the drive can be made on a quiet road to avoid the hectic interstate if you want.

Charming place with wonderful homemade breakfast. Hosts were extremely welcoming. Would stay again!

Wonderful little B&B. The food was delicious, staff very friendly, and very walkable to all of the downtown area. There are also many different hikes and walks in the area, and easy access to Portland if you need it.

Bill and Mary-ann are both amazing people who made this experience absolutely wonderful. From the 5 star breakfast each morning to the perfectly clean rooms. I can't recommend the James Place Inn enough!

Innkeeps Bill and Maryann are so friendly! They make you feel as if you are family. The rooms are clean & so comfy. The breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. We can't go wait to go back.

We stayed in the Green room and it was perfect. The jacuzzi is amazing. The room is clean and they don't have any heavy fragrances like you find in some rentals. We will certainly stay again.

The service was awesome. The beds were so comfortable- it felt like being in my own bed at home. That is how comfy it was! The breakfast was AMAZING! We had yogurt, fresh fruit, fantastic chocolate chip scones, and the most delectable french toast! It was the best food I had while in New England. Bill was so nice and funny- he made me laugh -Shea (age 11)

We had a great experience. We were greeted upon arrival and all our needs were met. Our room was super clean and cozy! I would definitely recommend James Place Inn Bed and Breakfast.
