Howard Johnson by Wyndham Historic Lake Charles

It was absolutely terrible. They tell you that they have a breakfast. They do not have breakfast. They only give granola bars, so that’s a why they were roaches everywhere and every room the sheets seemed washed, but still stained was not worth the money.

The room had a mildew smell, it was definitely not fresh smelling. The toilet handle was hanging on for dear life and the cable was shotty on and off. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone it wasn’t worth the price.

I was given a smoking room even though I requested a non smoking one, the room smelt awful, there was a couple of cigarette burns in the sheets, the room just didn’t feel clean, and the “free breakfast”!was coffee, juice and a granola bar. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Very friendly and informative staff. Ideal location to the downtown area. Parking is not ideal at all, the spots are small so bigger vehicles would take up 2. Our 2nd night we had to park across the street in an empty lot and walk to the hotel. The room wasn’t cleaned very well prior to our check in, there were dirty socks from the previous guests behind the door in the bathroom and on the shelf under the tv and empty cigar wrappers by the tv. The shower was clearly meant for small guests, I’m 5’4 and had to squat down to wash my hair. Overall, we didn’t mind because of the proximity to the shops and restaurants but a bit more cleanliness and some updates would make this place great.

We took kids, so the free breakfast was a big deal... It was a granola bar and a cup of orange..The smell of **** was all over the property..The air conditioner ****** the **** smell in our room..This is a Great Place for a pothead..Not a family..Sorry!!!

The room smelled horrible. I’ve been a nurse for 15 years and know first hand that it smelled exactly like an old diaper saturated in urine. The staff was nice but we had to use our perfume/cologne sprayed in the AC and all over the room to help.

Pool wasn't open on our visit. Other than that, all was great.

Would stay again. Good room for the price and friendly staff.
