Hotel Abashirikoso

The room was very spacious, and although the facilities were a bit old, the service was excellent and the food was delicious.

The hotel staff were very helpful and polite. The surrounding environment was beautiful and lovely. The rooms were large, tidy, and clean. I look forward to staying here for a few nights on my next trip.

The hotel is situated on the shores of Lake Abashiri, offering absolutely stunning lake-view rooms. It's very convenient if you're driving, but less so by public transport, as only the airport line goes there. It's best to check the timetable carefully and arrive early; otherwise, you'll need the front desk to help you call a taxi. A taxi from Abashiri city center costs around 2000 yen. The service is excellent; it's a Japanese government-designated international hospitality hotel. However, it's clear that it's a product of a period of rapid economic development, having made many compromises to cater to modern clientele. For example, the large public bath has a peeling ceiling, the breakfast selection is meager, and the rooms have a worn-out feel. The most unbearable thing is the room type with two single beds in the tatami room—the layout looks really strange—and the shower water pressure is too low; a 10-minute shower took half an hour.

Located near Memanbetsu Airport, the lake view is beautiful, and the rooms are fairly clean. However, the water pipes near the room entrance have a slight odor, but not every room has one. The food quality is average, and the onsen (hot spring) is basic. For the price, it's acceptable.

The hotel's service, facilities, food, and view were excellent, and I hope to stay there again next time.

Facilities: Very old facilities. The elevator doors lack automatic detection sensors and quickly trap people when the time is up. The water flow from the room faucets and showerheads is very weak, barely a drop. The hairdryer is old and ineffective, producing only a weak breeze; hair isn't truly dry but gradually dries. Environment: The environment is beautiful, situated by the lake with lake views. Service: Dinner service was excellent, but breakfast service was mediocre. They started rushing guests when the time was up. The breakfast selection was significantly lower than the hotel's price, offering almost no choices. Overall, quite poor.
