Hotel Abashirikoso

This hotel is also known as 'Abashiri Lakeside Inn'. It is a large hotel facing the Abashiri Lake. View of the lake from the hotel is great ! Fixtures like the TV, bathroom , sinks etc are somewhat old but the stay is okay (hot water may take some time to flow through when bathing). The breakfast buffet was especially good, dinner buffet was pleasant but not exceptional, although there is enough variety. There is an airport bus to this hotel (scheduled according to airlines landing times (which by itself is not that frequent), so this bus schedule is also not frequent (cost Yen800 person and can buy online). You really need to drive in order to conveniently visit places of interest in this area, which we did from the 2nd day of our arrival.

My toilet flushing system was not working well. Even after repair, it still come back to square 1. I got to change another room. It was problematic too, as i've unpackmy things! I hope the management do some interior upgrading. The room were quite run down. However lpcation was good

Helpful service staff. Hotel is very clean. Has closed and outdoor onsen.

The staff were professional and tried to communicate in English, which was unexpected as we were the guests. Although the hotel is enormous and shows signs of ageing, it is still well-maintained. The rooms were spacious and one of the best during my entire 2 weeks trip. The only issue was that the corridors were not insulated, and very cold during the winter. Coin laundry is located within the Main Building, so it can be a pain to walk from the East Building, braving the cold, to use the facility.
