Equator Village Maldives

The staff at this hotel are great. The location of the hotel is wonderful, on a local bus route that enables you to visit all four islands on the West of this atoll. There are Hawksbill turtles directly off the beach (which only exists at low tide). We are not fussy travellers and made a decision to save about £500 by staying here instead of the neighbouring Canareef Resort. That was a mistake. We discovered before arrival that this hotel is scheduled to close forever on November 1st. This could well be a contributing factor to our experience. There were less than 20 people here over the two weeks we stayed - end of September, start of October 2026. The all inclusive food was genuinely terrible. I would describe it as prison food. Stewed Beef (beef in brown sauce) frequently on the menu, very tasteless and dry, it was like the management had decided the chefs were not to bother spending any money on food. This was so much more galling as they had a pay menu that served edible food if you paid extra. The buildings are falling apart, leaking roofs and filthy wicker furniture, the toilets near reception are a health hazard that I did not consider visiting twice. Such a shame for the other businesses depending on tourism for their income, but this place closing seems inevitable.

Great location, the staff are fantastic and the manager Mohammed is so accommodating and ensures all visitors expectations are met to the best of His ability, the food is one of the best ive tasted, with the chef Ali on 20 years plus service there,wish all chefs could cook like Ali.

er in the Maldives. The hotel grounds are very green, and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. I had an all-inclusive package, and I enjoyed all the excursions and rented a bike. There are places to bike, snorkeling and see things to do on the neighboring islands. By Maldivian standards, the cost of the vacation is practically free. A great place!

Location is perfect near Gan airport, but no noise from planes. The staff are very friendly, respectful and helpful. I had an injury and they all took extra care of me to ensure that I would feel confortable everywhere at the resort. The room was spacious and cleaned everday. There were a few ants that ventured in, but there is nature all around, so you can expect a few bugs. The food was delicious and fresh. Great value! I would recommend this resort to everyone. Remember that as tourists, you should respect the cultural differences and realize that you should also adapt when in someone else's country.

The rooms are very rundown, the beaches are dirty, the diving centre is a rubbish tip, the food was always cold, the place is overrun with cats and chickens, the drinks are over priced, the beach man was always looking for tips and would stand by your beach bed every day waiting to be given a tip which was very uncomfortable we would not recommend this hotel, we have been many times to the Maldives and if this is your first visit to the Maldives it does not give to the right impression as the other places we have stayed has been wonderful. We would not recommend this island.

I spent 4 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed my time. My rooms are very clean, with great A/C. All the staff were friendly and the water access (pool and beach) were great. There's loads of places to sit/lie and relax and the vibe is super chilled. There was entertainment 3 out of the 4 nights I was there too. I'd happily stay again!

I have just spent a week in his resort on a dive trip and found it quite a surprise, rooms were comfortable with great aircon.. setting is wonderful and very relaxed, and staff were all very helpful. The meals are Buffet style with great selection for all.. a delightful pool and great bar service. Was a great stay! Thanks.
