Lava Lodge at Hale Kilauea

room was in good condition. It was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was a little tight. we appreciate the water and warning about not using the water for drinking since it was not potable. The lady at check-in at the Tru-Value was very helpful. The remoteness of the property was concening at first but we walked around the surrounding area and that made us feel better about the property location.

Very nice room and friendly host. Breakfast consisted of a coffee machine, some fruit and a package pastry. Not what I expected given other places I stayed in Volcano. You pick up keys at a hardware store and I wish they had warned me that the charge on my credit card would be from the hardware store! Gave me a bit of a scare,

Staff at check in was courteous but it was overpriced for what it was. The place was tidy but the water out of the faucets wasn’t safe to drink, and though they provided drinking water it was not ideal. There were more beds than expected but the walls were pretty thin. Even though there were dehumidifiers running, it was pretty damp feeling. It wasn’t exactly the cozy cabin I was hoping for, and at this price I expected a bit better.

We weren't able to check in during the listed check-in times, but Tasha was able to accommodate us. After discovering all the restaurants in town were shut down before our arrival, it was a relief to find a couple snacks and fruits in a bowl waiting for us on arrival. The place was very clean and comfortable. The obly opportunity for improvement would bebetter signage feom the road.

Everything was as described in the listing. Definitely a rural experience, as expected.

Huge cabin with five full size beds and fireplace! So roomy and great location. LOVED IT!!!!

The cabin style room is spacious and feel very comfortable. It's located within a quiet and greeny village close to the volcano NP. The staff works there are very friendly and responsive. Highly recommend!

Love this place! So close to the Volcano Park…we hit to see an incredible eruption!!

Nice rustic place. We normally stay in 4 and 5 * hotels and this was not that but it was a cool little spot for what the town is. It’s remote with not a lot of choices. The room was clean and if we can’t get a room in the park again when we’re there next, we will try to stay here again.
