Bvlgari Hotel Shanghai

Breakfast: I came for the 24-hour in-room dining. There's a full menu with four sets. However, due to a tight schedule, I only ordered an American breakfast late on the first night, as shown in the picture. Minibar: Quite well-stocked and plentiful. The juices were delicious. The butler informed me upon check-in which items were chargeable. Accommodation: As shown in the pictures. The room was spacious enough, with a walk-in closet. The view from the window was completely blocked. I hope to get a room with a better view next time. Other: The lobby is on the first floor, which I appreciate. I dislike hotels where the lobby is on a higher floor.

Shanghai Bvlgari: A True Old Money Vibe Experience ✨ Honestly, for me, a stay at the Bvlgari is an immersive experience of genuine old money living. Many people complain about its shortcomings, like being a bit far from the main attractions, and the hotel having been open for years, showing some obvious signs of age in its facilities. These issues are indeed present; you can see slight scratches on the floors, and some furniture joints show a bit of wear. It definitely doesn't have the pristine, polished feel of a brand-new, trendy hotel. But I have to say, its old money ambiance is truly top-tier and absolutely irreplaceable. The most direct feeling comes during breakfast. Sitting in the restaurant listening to the conversations around me, the atmosphere is completely different—gentle, relaxed, understated, and composed. There’s no flashy, showy wealth. This is the quintessential old money relaxed vibe; that aura simply cannot be faked. Putting aside the minor imperfections in the facilities, the comfort level of the stay is off the charts! I absolutely rave about the Bvlgari's bedding; it's the most stable and comfortable sleep I’ve had in any hotel! And their bath towels, I truly can't stop thinking about them! Soft and plush, with a faint, high-end fragrance that feels like a specially crafted scent. After a shower, wrapping myself in it makes me feel soft and fragrant all over—pure bliss! The service is consistently top-notch, a true delight for those who appreciate details! During the day, housekeeping proactively brings fresh fruit platters and warm, freshly baked pastries. In the evening, there's a soothing herbal tea, which really elevates the detailed ambiance. All soft drinks in the room are complimentary, and the cleaning staff tidies the room regularly, refilling drinks and amenities promptly, so you don't have to worry about a thing. The professionalism of all hotel staff is exceptional. Whether it's the bellhop or the cleaning crew, they greet you gently when you meet. The service is professional and discreet—not overly enthusiastic to the point of awkwardness, nor cold or perfunctory. The room's quality is also absolutely on point! The overall decor is luxurious yet understated, with fresh flowers and greenery adorning every corner, making it fresh and elegant. The room is incredibly spacious, and the view from the window is stunning. I absolutely love curling up on the sofa in the room, daydreaming and unwinding. When I feel like it, I'll leisurely head out for a stroll on Nanjing Road. It’s so relaxed and pleasant, truly a full-on vacation vibe. Objectively speaking, purely in terms of hardware facilities, it indeed can't compare to many newly opened high-end hotels. But that's the charm of the Bvlgari; it possesses an inherent European royal palace heritage and aura. New hotels can mimic decor and pile on hardware, but this kind of accumulated sophistication and composed old money atmosphere can never be replicated. My biggest takeaway after staying: Palace-level elegance is never defined by brand-new facilities.

First off, our butler Scarlet was incredibly warm and trustworthy! The service was excellent, the hygiene was impeccable, and the bed was very comfortable! The room service attendant was also lovely! I forgot to ask for her name, but she deserves a special shout-out! Haha. The Chinese restaurant has a great ambiance and delicious food – we've already been twice!

The hotel's decor and facilities are outstanding, and all the staff are incredibly friendly. The food was also great. A special thanks to Rust, who provided professional and warm service. It was a wonderful stay.

Joanna at the concierge provided exceptional service, and I was very satisfied with my stay. The room I was given had a particularly beautiful view. If I come back, I hope to stay in the same room type again. The deep-fried dough sticks (youtiao) for breakfast were the best I've had in Shanghai. Bvlgari truly is top-notch.

Full set of Bvlgari White Tea amenities, and butler service is promptly responsive. The century-old General Chamber of Commerce building boasts a strong retro Italian design vibe. ▪️ Cons Having been open for several years, some room facilities show slight signs of aging, with loose panels. Breakfast selection is limited, and the food quality is average. The basic city-view rooms don't offer river views; it's best to prioritize booking a room with a view. Overall, it's suitable for a special experience or checking in for the atmosphere, with the focus on enjoying the night views and luxurious ambiance.

The room was spacious, and the facilities were brand new. The view from the window was lovely, and the service was excellent. They even thoughtfully prepared a cake for my wife's birthday, especially Joanna, our butler, who provided impeccable service. The downsides were the lack of a kids' club and no children's pool area, which left the little ones a bit bored. As a two-Michelin-star restaurant, 'Paulaner' was quite disappointing in terms of taste, though the service was at least enthusiastic.

The room was spacious enough and offered a fantastic view of the Bund, especially beautiful at night. Being able to dine in the room was a lovely treat. The bar on the 47th floor is definitely worth a visit. It was a rare and valuable luxurious experience.
