Beijing Qianmen Qiuguo S1918 Hotel

The bathroom smelled of cooking fumes, there was a black hair in the disposable toothbrush, and white stains were under the coaster. When I reported it, the front desk didn't offer any real solution, just a simple "Oh."

I chose a hotel very close to the Natural History Museum. The lobby has a dedicated reading area where you can borrow books, chat with friends, or enjoy some tea. The courtyard out back is perfect for a breath of fresh air and stargazing in the evening. The room facilities are complete and very clean, and the service is excellent. Any request is promptly handled by the staff!

The environment is great, with convenient transportation nearby and plenty of good food options. The room ambiance is nice and it's a comfortable stay.

Facilities: Very good. Cleanliness: Clean and tidy. Environment: Beautiful surroundings. Service: Attentive. Overall, the hotel's location, cleanliness, facilities, and environment are all excellent. They offer free porridge, steamed buns, pickles, etc., after 8 PM. My stay was very pleasant, and it offers good value for money. I will definitely stay here again.

Pros: Clean, comfortable bed and good pillows. You can walk to the Temple of Heaven, National Museum of Natural History, Beijing Ancient Architecture Museum, and Tianqiao. If you're up for it, Qianmen is also just over a kilometer's walk. Taxis are easy to find. The front desk staff were all very nice. Cons: A bit far from the subway station. Overall, it's great value for money and highly recommended.

Self-service Vitamin Boost Station (11:00-18:00, grab from the lobby): Perfect for a light afternoon snack to tide you over. Facilities: Well-equipped, everything you need. Hygiene: Clean and tidy. Environment: Convenient location, with a subway station nearby.

I came to Beijing for a conference, and due to a typhoon, I arrived earlier than planned. The hotel's location is pretty good, very close to the high-speed train station. Another reason I chose this place was to visit the popular steamed bun shop, Gongmenkou, to buy some treats for my girlfriend to take home. The hotel service was decent, and the room and facilities were also fine. I encountered a minor issue, but it was resolved smoothly. Facilities: Decent, has most things, but the mirror light was unresponsive when pressed. Cleanliness: Average. The walls were quite dirty, but tolerable. Environment: There's construction outside the hotel. I requested a room not facing the street, which was much quieter. However, the path to and from the hotel is messy and inconvenient to walk on – you have to watch your step. It's about a 10-minute walk to the subway, and also very close to the Temple of Heaven Park – about a 5-minute walk from across the subway exit. It's pretty convenient for getting around, but if you're tired after a long day and want to be in the hotel within a minute of exiting the subway, you might want to skip this one. There's a snack place nearby called Tiangongyuan Xiaochi with delicious steamed buns; I particularly liked the preserved vegetable (meigan cai) ones.
