Hopewell Hotel

The place is conveniently located at Wan Chai Exit D, with a short walk, at the heart of Hong Kong. Overall a great and clean environment.

Great place to stay at, the front desk workers were very helpful and allowed us for later checkout. Food was amazing

Our stay at The Hopewell Hotel was disappointing. It simply did not meet the expectations we had for what we thought would be a luxury experience. The biggest frustration was the chaotic lift arrangements, which made it an ordeal every time you were coming in and out of the hotel. We felt that there should have been dedicated lifts for hotel guests taking you from the reception to the ground floors. Instead, we were constantly jostling with crowds of mall-goers and buffet diners, with passengers stopping at every floor all the way down to Queen’s Road East. There was also a designated smoking area in the middle of the walkway leading to the reception area, which is not pleasant for non-smokers to have to walk past every time they enter. The room was spacious and perfectly comfortable but the furnishing was unimaginative and the art work was bland and unimpressive. The tables and walls were also stained, indicating substandard finishing. Our suite had a washing and coffee machine - both useful, but there was no mini-bar, which one would have expected in this sort of hotel. It was strange in particular to have an empty wine fridge. In addition, there did not appear to be any room service available, or at least we could not find any menu/ information about in-room dining. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and professional. The views from our room were spectacular, and again, it was a pleasure to have such a spacious room. Unfortunately, the hotel was let down by a lack of attention to detail and lack of thought behind the guest experience.
