Disappointing restaurant. Lovely setting and house. Rooms nice too. But the food and service not very good. Starters presented well but lacked flavour. Main of hake was ok, but the rabbit and ginea fowl was poorly presented and tasteless. Same with deserts. Breakfast not great either. Under staffed with no clear direction.

Very clean, nothing was open for dinner. Limted options due to being a Tuesday night.

Beautiful castle and park.Clean and beautifully restored and maintained. The suite was nice and comfortable but no phone, no small fridge and no staff in the castle outside the bar and restaurant opening hours.

We stayed here one night on our way from Dordogne to Calais. It’s a beautiful place, we had a nice but small bedroom and everything was nice and clean. The grounds are spacious with sparse planting around the castle. Dinner was delicious and very reasonably priced. Nice wine as well. The service was OK. Breakfast was OK, but no one there to let us know where to get coffee and find the different dishes. We had to find cutlery to serve us selves with. So plus for the food, minus for the service.

When you pass through the castle gate, you expect unparalleled service. But unfortunately, this is not the case. We enter the restaurant room and there is no conviviality. The table is more like a cafe/bar. The dishes sound delicious on paper and on paper, but what a disappointment on the plate! The scallops in a court-bouillon are indeed court-bouillon in a dirty watery broth with insignificant grey radish – what a shame for such beautiful scallops! As for the pollack, it sits on a shapeless sweet potato puree, cooked on one side and cold on the other. The leeks were burnt to a crisp. On the other hand, the apple crumble was very good, but there were no small spoons for eating the whipped cream and Calvados, so we had to use the back of a fork. For the meat, please use proper meat knives, not IKEA-style ones. The champagne was served by the glass, not by the bottle in front of us 🤨 The waiter, dressed all in black, was competent, but his colleague didn't even wait for us to sit down before throwing the menu on the table without any explanation. As a result, we ended up paying €200. What a shame! We won't be returning and we won't be recommending this restaurant. Isabelle and Eric

Upon arrival, we drove through a stunning estate; the place was impressive. We then came to a magnificent castle with some of its original defenses. The welcome wasn't up to 4-star standards, and we had to cross a gravel courtyard (not easy with luggage...) to reach the castle. The room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed. Breakfast was rather basic, also not up to 4-star standards. There was a ray of sunshine, but unfortunately, the windows weren't very clean... a shame, because the room itself is very pleasant. A superb location, but there's still room for improvement to reach 4-star status.

We went for dinner one evening in this sublime setting, but what a disappointment! When you order two glasses of champagne, they should be poured at the table and not handed to the waiter ("champagne or crémant"). The meal was bland and minimalist. The service was not up to the establishment's standards. A smile, admittedly, when the bill arrived.

From the extremely casual welcome, where you're not even shown to your accommodation in an annex of the castle (the wine press), to the poor quality of the room: nothing is right. The room is too small for three people: it's impossible to fully open the bedroom door because it bangs against the sofa bed… There's no refrigerator, no soundproofing (you can hear your upstairs neighbors talking and walking), no Wi-Fi code, mismatched furniture, a poorly installed shower column, screws and instructions for the bathroom cabinet still in the drawers, and a sloppy cleanliness… Breakfast is unacceptable for a four-star hotel: no baguette, poor-quality pastries, industrial orange juice, and a coffee machine that tastes like it belongs at a motorway service station (watery hot chocolate): charged at €22 per person! If you're looking for a true four-star hotel, look elsewhere… Check-out is nonexistent: you have to leave your key in a basket at the closed reception…
