The Westin Chongqing Liberation Square

The Westin gave the most satisfying answer to what it truly means to feel at home. From the moment we arrived, the doorman greeted us with a warm smile, opened the car door, took our luggage, and escorted us inside. It was such a comfortable, effortless, and seamless experience. Located on the 50th floor, the lobby delivered top-tier service. The check-in process was highly professional, featuring a detailed introduction to the hotel's amenities and the perks we were entitled to, all explained clearly. Handing us a local tourist map on the spot was a wonderfully thoughtful touch. Moving on to the room, the welcome letter from the manager and the check-in refreshments were exquisite and considerate. The bedding struck the perfect balance between firmness and softness, and when we requested buckwheat pillows, housekeeping delivered them promptly. The bathroom features a smart toilet, with separate sets of toiletries for both the bathtub and the shower. As for other highlights, the river view outside the window—especially the sparkling lights at night—had a unique charm. The fitness center is fully equipped with towels and drinking water, and the standard gym equipment easily caters to daily workout needs. A special mention goes to the hotel's Chuan Shang restaurant, which completely blew me away. We enjoyed authentic Mapo Tofu, Twice-Cooked Pork, and delicious soft-shell turtle. The spice was mellow rather than harsh, and the umami flavor was delightful. Best of all were the complimentary side dishes—not perfunctory or compromised in the least. Paired with the view outside the window, it was simply unbeatable. We ordered four dishes, and the attentive server kindly suggested we could order half-portions to avoid wasting food. The prices here are moderate, and the flavors can be adjusted to be lighter or heavier, fully catering to the diverse preferences of guests. The breakfast offered a mix of Chinese and Western options, catering to both local and out-of-town guests. Staff members cleared tables promptly and guided us to our seats. The location is also a huge advantage: Jiefangbei is within a 10-minute walk, and Kuixinglou and Daijiaxiang take about 15 minutes. For those with a bit more stamina, the Shancheng Third Step Ancient Path is within walking distance. Around Jiefangbei, the Bayi Food Street and popular local hole-in-the-wall eateries are everywhere. All in all, this was a wonderful trip. The Westin, in particular, provided a home-like comfort and peace of mind amidst our busy daily itineraries. Thank you to all the staff at The Westin for the warmth and joy you brought us. The room is spacious with a fantastic, unobstructed view, making waking up here a truly pleasant experience. Thumbs up for the hot pot restaurant—approved by a local from Sichuan! The gym is also good with plenty of equipment.

Convenient location, stunning views, clean and hygienic, excellent service attitude, and highly efficient problem-solving.

Pros: The suite is spacious and offers views of half the river. Facilities are well-maintained; the bed is large and extremely comfortable, and the bathtub is generous—perfect for a relaxing soak. The bathroom even has a sauna! Breakfast is varied and delicious—wonton noodles are a standout, and the yogurt is excellent. We checked in on Saturday, and the hotel was fully booked. During the peak 9 a.m. breakfast rush, it got quite crowded. On the second day, we waited briefly outside before getting in—arriving earlier is recommended. Cons: The window glass in the room is quite dirty, significantly obstructing the view—please send in the cleaning robot ASAP. The parking garage is located on B4, with confusing, winding access routes. Given the building’s age, the garage feels a bit run-down, and the entrance isn’t clearly marked.

Finally checked off The Westin Chongqing Liberation Monument! The location is right in the heart of Jiefangbei, making getting around super convenient. The twin room was arranged very cozily, and the Westin's signature bed is amazingly comfortable—I slept straight through until morning. The room is spacious, with a thoughtful wet-and-dry separation design for the vanity and bathtub. The biggest pleasant surprise was the high-floor river view room with an unbeatable perspective; looking out the window, the Yuzhong Peninsula, the Yangtze River, and the distant mountains are all in full view. The mountain city's river scenery is truly breathtaking! I also checked out the First/Business Class Lounge, and the service was attentive and professional. A fantastic stay overall, highly recommended! 📸✨

I spent a lot of time looking at various hotels before my trip, and finally chose this one after comparing a few. The main reason is that I really dislike buildings that house multiple hotels—it feels very chaotic and waiting for the elevators can be a nightmare! The Westin does a great job in this regard. The elevators were fast and efficient. Also, the mattress was insanely comfortable. I slept so well! Thumbs up for that. Then there's the location. It's very close to Jiefangbei, Hongyadong, and surrounding attractions, which makes getting around a breeze. That’s definitely a plus. The only downside is that the rooms are quite small, seemingly a bit smaller than the Westins I've stayed at in other cities. Plus, everything in the minibar is charged, which isn't great. Oh well, I suppose every city has its own unique quirks. The extra-long remote control and the Hermès scarf-inspired decor also add a nice, distinctive touch.
