Gran Hotel Mas d'en Bruno

A lovely property in Priorat that was our base for 4 days. We visited nearby wineries and towns during our time there. We were surprised at how quiet the towns were, seems many people have moved away or return on weekends. Some smaller towns only had around 20 people living there. The food at the hotel was delicious and they had an impressive wine list. The staff were all very helpful whether at the front desk or in the restaurant. It wasn't inexpensive to stay there and if you wanted a spa treatment you also had to pay a fee on top for entrance to the spa. It seems like an unnecessary fee and was enough to dissuade us from visiting the spa as it felt like a cash grab more than anything. We hope to return as part of a future European vacation and wine tour.

We have stayed as a couple in July 2026 and we were absolutely blown away by the hotel, its facilities, food and the hospitality, especially from the staff and the General Manager, Jordi. The surrounding cuisine and wine is out of this world. We can't wait to be back! Thank you for having us.

Without a doubt, this is the best vineyard hotel I have ever stayed at and my favourite hotel in Catalonia. What makes this place truly special is the sense of peace and tranquility you feel from the moment you arrive. Surrounded by vineyards and nature, it is the perfect place to disconnect, slow down, and enjoy a few days away from the noise and pace of everyday life. The hotel has been beautifully designed, and both the common areas and the rooms are exceptional. Everything feels thoughtfully conceived and perfectly integrated into the surrounding landscape, creating a wonderful feeling of calm, comfort, and well-being. Another highlight of our stay was the incredible hospitality of the entire team. Everyone was genuinely warm, attentive, and welcoming, always making sure we felt at home. The level of service throughout the hotel was outstanding. Mas d’en Bruno also has everything you could wish for in a dream weekend getaway: an exceptional restaurant, a fantastic spa, a beautiful outdoor pool, and stunning surroundings that invite you to relax and unwind. A truly memorable experience in every sense. We left already looking forward to our next visit.

We chose Bruno d’en Mas for a special occasion — my husband’s 60th birthday — and on paper it had everything we were looking for. The property is undeniably beautiful: the setting, the architecture, the attention to design are all lovely, and our photos don’t do it justice. Sadly, the warmth of the welcome didn’t match the beauty of the surroundings. Ahead of our stay, I messaged the hotel to let them know we were celebrating a milestone birthday, hoping they might mark the occasion in some small way. On arrival there was no acknowledgement of this whatsoever — no mention, no card, nothing. There was also no welcome drink or any gesture of hospitality, which we’d genuinely expected at a property positioned at this level. It’s the kind of small touch that costs little but makes a guest feel looked after, and its absence set the tone. We had booked a suite, and were disappointed to discover it had no outdoor space at all. When we asked whether anything could be done, we were offered a room with outside space — but at a “discounted” upgrade cost of €400 per night, which felt frankly excessive. Throughout this trip, every other hotel we’ve stayed in has happily offered a complimentary upgrade where one was available, so to be quoted such a sum on a special occasion left a sour impression. None of this is to take away from how striking the property is — it’s clear a great deal of thought has gone into the look and feel of the place. But a beautiful building can only carry an experience so far. What stays with you is how you’re made to feel, and on that front we left feeling like just another booking rather than guests marking something meaningful. For the price point and the promise, we expected more heart. A real shame, because with a little genuine care this could have been memorable for all the right reasons.

This place is stunning! Absolutely gorgeous. Definitely one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed. The only reason I didn’t give it full 5 stars is the room was quite warm. 24-25 degrees when you’re trying to sleep is a challenge. The staff were excellent and tried to have someone come fix it but generally even after it was 23-24 degrees and we’d prefer to be able to control the temps ourselves. But otherwise this place was amazing and I definitely recommend!
