MGM Shanghai West Bund

Our stay at MGM Shanghai West岸 (The West Bund) far exceeded expectations. From the moment we arrived, the doorman proactively opened the door and handled our luggage, and the front desk provided an efficient check-in while giving us a detailed introduction to the hotel facilities and nearby art venues. The guest room was spacious and bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering direct views of the West Bund riverfront. The bedding was soft and comfortable, soundproofing was excellent, the bathroom featured a wet-and-dry separation with a complete set of amenities, and the turndown service was meticulous and thoughtful. The breakfast offered a rich variety, featuring both Chinese and Western hot dishes as well as local specialty dim sum, and the restaurant provided an elegant environment with attentive service. The gym and pool equipment were modern and clean, and the artistic displays in the public areas reflected a strong sense of design throughout. The location is very convenient—within walking distance to the West Bund Museum and the riverside promenade, and easy to hail a taxi. Special thanks go to Lumi from the Guest Relations team for her enthusiastic and professional care throughout our stay: she proactively contacted us before arrival to confirm our preferences, thoughtfully upgraded our room and provided a handwritten welcome card upon check-in, checked in with us multiple times during our stay, promptly coordinated and resolved a small request we had, and even came to see us off upon departure while reminding us to gather our belongings. This truly made us feel valued and warmed. Such meticulous service and top-notch hardware made both me and my family extremely satisfied. We will definitely choose this hotel again next time we visit Shanghai and will gladly recommend it to our friends.

An absolutely wonderful experience! Thank you for the complimentary room upgrade. During the evening blue hour, we fully enjoyed the stunning night views of the Huangpu River. The room is spacious with a very cozy layout, and the bedding is exceptionally comfortable. Aside from the room itself, the Sky59 bar on the top floor is also highly recommended—the cocktails are expertly crafted, creative, and innovative.

First Stay at MGM Shanghai West Bund | A Delightful and Unforgettable Experience At the end of October, during a typhoon 🌀, I checked into the MGM Shanghai West Bund 🏨. Due to my previous hotel being fully booked 🈵️, I had to change my plans at the last minute and decided to give MGM a try… With the heavy wind and rain ➕ feeling pretty down, stepping out of the car upon arrival was just rough. The moment the car door opened, a friendly gentleman from the door team, Jin Yinku, came over with an umbrella ☔️ so I didn't get wet in the rain ⛈️. Eric from the concierge team proactively stepped in to help with the luggage. Upon learning that we were heading to the executive lounge, he warmly advised us that once the room number was ready, our luggage could be sent directly to the room, and kindly guided us to the elevator, telling us to head straight to the front desk on the 57th floor! Since it was my first time at MGM and I had no idea the executive lounge was on the 56th floor, I was completely lost—until Xiao Xiao from the 【front desk】 promptly spotted me! The front desk was packed at the time! Huge thanks to Xiao Xiao for her attentiveness! Hearing that we wanted to head to the executive lounge to check in… Xiao Xiao actually handed over her tasks to a colleague and personally escorted us to the lounge to handle our check-in herself! Upon reaching the 56th floor executive lounge, after Lumi warmly greeted us, Xiao Xiao graciously invited us to sit and relax in the lounge ♨️ (Xiao Xiao’s warm hospitality instantly made us feel right at home). While waiting, KITTY very warmly came over to ask if we’d like anything to drink (the hot cappuccino Kitty made—see photo 5⃣️—had such exquisite latte art). After check-in, realizing it was our first stay, Xiao Xiao began giving us a detailed introduction to the hotel and warmly escorted us to our room to rest ♨️, carefully explaining the room layout and various amenities! Right then, I knew I had made the right choice coming here! I figured Xiao Xiao couldn’t just be a regular front desk agent… When I found out she was actually the morning shift duty manager 🏨 for that day, I hurriedly urged her to leave the room—it was already 17:00! We had seriously delayed her getting off work. Even so… Xiao Xiao simply said, "Sir! It’s my absolute pleasure to serve you!" But with that radiant smile and gentle tone, I really didn't want her to leave! Xiao Xiao is warm, gracious, and impeccably spoken—she must be a favorite among all guests. Also, a huge thank you to SANDRA from the Front Office for the welcome card (see photos 1⃣️ and 2⃣️). You guys are truly thoughtful ❤️❤️❤️! At 17:30, we headed down to the executive lounge to enjoy Happy Hour. The selection of alcoholic drinks was extensive, and the food was fantastic too! Kitty provided the absolute best service among them all!!! Kitty took care of us meticulously from head to toe!! Thank you for your heartfelt ❤️ service, Kitty! The signature cocktail made by Kiki—Tequila Sunrise (see photo 6⃣️)—was as gorgeous as it was delicious! Kiki also thoughtfully helped us borrow a phone charging 🔋 cable! Chloe came by a few times to clear our plates, and her service was equally attentive! Chloe arrived right on time at 19:15 to gently remind us that dining service ended at 19:30. In the evening, I checked out the fitness center and pool. The young lady at the front desk reception ❤️ and the young gentleman at the pool ❤️ were both super nice. For check-out, we went straight to the lounge and bumped into Manager Sasa! Manager Sasa overflowed with warmth as she introduced us to the lounge's spatial art and even invited us to enjoy afternoon tea (which we had missed the previous day due to arriving a bit late). Manager Sasa’s down-to-earth hospitality made the experience even more welcoming! She also personally helped us arrange concierge service! After a brief rest and getting ready to leave… Manager Sasa personally escorted us to the 57th floor… Thank you, Manager Sasa, for your warm ❤️ reception! At this point, Xiao Xiao from the 【front desk】 was already waiting for us to inform us that there had been a minor mishap during the transport of our luggage by the concierge team… She actually checked in to see if we needed compensation, offering a matching backpack 🎒, which I politely declined ❌. The broken handle strap on my own bag was indeed a bit inconvenient for carrying, but the backpack itself wasn't structurally damaged and its functionality remained unaffected! Even so, Xiao Xiao’s service philosophy of “thinking what guests think, and worrying what guests worry about” was truly touching! Additionally, Macy from the concierge was still apologizing! Perhaps we share a special bond with MGM… this little hiccup actually made us love the place even more! Afterwards, having sorted out our luggage, Xiao Xiao seamlessly stepped into the role of a Guest Relations 【Guest Relations Specialist】 and conducted an in-depth follow-up on my first stay at MGM! This time, Xiao Xiao was no longer just warm and friendly; she was professional, senior-level, thorough, and meticulous as she inquired about every single aspect of our stay. She even handed over a bottle of water during the chat—such a thoughtful ❤️ touch! By the time we left, it was already 19:00, seriously delaying Xiao Xiao off work! I am deeply sorry for holding her up past her shift two days in a row!! The only way I can express my sincerest gratitude and appreciation to Xiao Xiao is through this review! Her warm, professional, and attentive service goes beyond just a breath of fresh air… it completely made our hearts blossom with joy! By departure day, all the frustration and annoyance from arrival day had completely vanished! Even though it was still a typhoon 🌀 outside with howling winds and heavy rain! Xiao Xiao felt like a radiant 🌞 sun, sweeping away all the gloom. The healing power of MGM Orange is real 🉑️! Sincere thanks to the MGM Shanghai West Bund 🏨 for having such outstanding staff! It was still raining 🌧️ when we checked out… A huge thank you to concierge Eric for his patient, meticulous, and attentive ❤️ service! And Teacher Tony helped hold the umbrella ☔️ so we didn't get wet at all! This maiden trip to MGM came to a perfect close! Locals living in Shanghai rarely stay at hotels within the city! But after experiencing this 【delightful and unforgettable】 stay at the MGM Shanghai West Bund 🏨 as a local, I genuinely want to come back and stay here again next time! Grateful for the encounter! The environment is quite nice, but the Chinese restaurant focuses a bit too much on seafood. The breakfast options are not particularly varied, which doesn't quite justify the price. On the positive side, the staff are all very enthusiastic, polite, and attentive—definitely praise-worthy.

The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable and soft, the breakfast offered a great variety, and it's just a few minutes' walk to the West Bund Art Center.

The hotel's design is truly impressive, and the room was very comfortable and spacious. The restaurant also offered great dishes, and the views were absolutely stunning.

The biggest highlight of our stay at MGM was meeting the wonderful CiCi! The experience far exceeded our expectations. She reached out proactively before check-in to confirm our details, and during check-in, she thoroughly explained the hotel's layout so we wouldn't get lost. When I asked to store my luggage for half a day at the last minute, she handled it seamlessly and made the whole process quick and easy. When we asked for off-the-beaten-path recommendations in Shanghai, instead of just pointing us to the usual tourist traps and social media hotspots, she suggested much more authentic, local itineraries. Talking with her felt easy and natural—just like getting travel tips from a local friend, completely free of scripted hospitality clichés. CiCi's genuine, warm service added so much joy to this relaxing trip! The only minor bummer was that our room didn't come with a stationary bike!
