The Malioboro Hotel and Conference Center

I stayed for 5 nights and had a very comfortable experience. The hallways, elevators, and room all smelled pleasant. I was pleasantly surprised by the welcome cake upon arrival. The room was clean and comfortable, and the shower had good water pressure and temperature. There was also a refrigerator and an electric kettle, and the TV offered Netflix and other streaming services. There's a water dispenser in the hallway, and it was great to have a pitcher in the room to fill and chill water in the fridge. While I didn't use them this time, the room service and buffet options seemed reasonably priced and good. The staff were also very kind. You can also smoke and eat in the lobby, which is a nice touch for relaxing while waiting for a taxi or upon returning. The room was cleaned daily as long as I put out the sign. There are convenience stores, restaurants, and laundry services nearby, and Malioboro Street is within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again next time I visit Yogyakarta.

The room quality is comparable to a 'Home Inn Select' in China, perhaps slightly below a 'Ji Hotel'. However, the volcanic view from the window is absolutely amazing, which is a huge plus! The bathroom is just okay; water tends to splash out when you shower. They don't provide bottled water in the room, but there's free drinking water available in the hallway. Breakfast is excellent with a wide variety of options, much better than what you'd find at a Home Inn. The hotel's location is also very convenient.
