Renaissance Honolulu Hotel & Spa

Overall, I'm very satisfied! The room was spacious and bright, the facilities were new, and the hygiene was excellent. The view was amazing! Ala Moana Center is just a 5-minute walk away, offering plenty of shopping and dining options. A stroll along the beach at the waterfront park was also very pleasant. All the staff were nice, until check-out day when a rather overweight female employee provided terrible service. During peak hours, there was only one staff member, so I had to queue. When I saw her arrive, I politely asked if there was a quick check-out option. She responded very impatiently with, "Just wait," without a single polite word and maintained a scowl throughout! She's the reason why I'm deducting points for service.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. I booked a suite because the price was good, and the room was excellent – spacious, clean, and with beautiful views of the mountains, city, and ocean. Since it shares facilities with the apartments, the amenities are fantastic; the pool, gym, and terrace are all great. The location is superb, just a few minutes' walk to Walmart, Target, and Ala Moana. The only minor point is that parking is valet-only, but the experience was decent. There are a few homeless people in the area at night, but given the bustling location and presence of police cars, it felt relatively safe. If you're driving, it's not an issue at all.

The water pressure was so bad I couldn't even shower. The location is excellent, but everything else is just mediocre.

Almost no service. The TV was broken, and there was a strange smell in the room. I stayed for 4 nights. On the second day, I was in the room when housekeeping came at 5 PM. They only dropped off towels and were about to leave. I asked, 'Is that all the cleaning you do?' The staff asked if I needed the bed made, and I said yes. I also asked if we were supposed to get two bottles of water daily and if they could replenish them. They agreed but never did. Later, I found old bloodstains on the sheets. On the third day, no one cleaned the room at all. On the last day, I ran into a cleaner in the hallway and asked her to clean the room and provide two bottles of water, which was the only day I experienced normal cleaning service. For a five-star hotel, there were no slippers or bathrobes. When I asked the front desk, they said I had to specifically request them to get them. The TV had static and flickering images. The front desk said the entire system had issues. They were quick to charge, and the fees were high. I originally planned to stay one more night after returning from Mawei and asked if the hotel could store a small suitcase for me. They said they didn't offer that service. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. For my return trip, I chose the Hilton, which is closer to the beach. Although it's a four-star hotel, it had a large room, sea view, and a balcony. The service, cleanliness, and overall conditions were much better. Plus, it was 500 HKD cheaper. Highly recommend it.

The room was spacious, the living room had a great view, and it was clean and tidy. Also, the breakfast in the restaurant on the first floor was delicious.

The view is beautiful; the higher floors offer ocean views and allow you to open the windows, but you can't see the sunrise. Across the street is the Alamoana Center, which has a food plant and delicious local poke. You can use your daily tax payment at the Sera restaurant downstairs, so it's a good thing. The rooms are far superior to the Hilton, but they lack the resort atmosphere. However, there's always a very strong smell when you enter, but thankfully you can sleep with the windows open. There's no parking, but there's free parking across the street, about a 15-minute walk. In Hawaii, you're practically helpless without a car. Getting to Wakii Beach without a car is a real struggle. The hotel provides a free shuttle, but you'll have to walk back. Nighttimes in the US aren't safe, even in Hawaii. So, choosing this hotel basically means missing out on sunsets and nighttime beach views unless you're really brave.

There is a mandatory daily charge of $48, parking costs $59 per day, laundry is very convenient, and the location is excellent.
