Hotel Berchielli

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, right by the Arno River between the famous Ponte Vecchio and Ponte Santa Trinita. It's only about 200-300 meters from the Uffizi Gallery, just a few minutes' walk. Watching the sunset from Ponte Vecchio and Ponte Santa Trinita is also incredibly convenient from here. The hotel itself is historic and has a charming, vintage feel. There are no chip key cards or password locks; instead, you get a heavy, old-fashioned, tarnished brass key. When you leave, you hand the key to the front desk, and when you return, you retrieve it to open your room. After staying a couple of days, the front desk staff even started recognizing us, which was a unique experience. The Italian-style sofas in the lobby are incredibly comfortable, especially after a long day of sightseeing, providing a truly relaxing spot. They also have photography books showcasing the Tuscan landscape and other reading materials. Our room was spacious with high ceilings, and we were lucky enough to get a river view room. Opening the shutters, we could see the Arno River and the Ponte Vecchio – absolutely delightful!

The hotel's location is excellent, and the room was very spacious. Although the bathroom was small, it had everything we needed. The breakfast service was particularly warm and friendly. The only downsides were that the air conditioning in the room was a bit noisy and the duvet/blanket was a bit thin.

A hidden gem! The location and views are fantastic.
