The Freeport Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

We had made a reservation at this hotel and the minute we walked in the place smelled musty . The sheets didn’t look clean and mattress pad had dried blood and urine stains on it. We didn’t feel comfortable sleeping and staying in this place.

Highly allergic to dogs, so happy to find a pet-free place. However, they use a highly scented steam clean on carpeting in hallway. Room did not have the harsh scent, thankfully. Older building, but nice upgrades in bathroom. Comfy bed, WONDERFUL bedding, wall hvac system worked well and provided a nice "white noise", which may be needed when it's the busy season. Bring an eye mask if you don't like any light in the room--the blackout curtains are showing their age. Very quiet, but, really, who goes to the coast of Maine in March?

Room was very clean, staff was friendly. Housekeeping did an excellent job. Great place to stay for a great price.

Very convenient location to many local attractions and shopping. The hotel could have been a bit cleaner. But overall, it was a pleasant stay.

I booked for us last minute, was super cute place, was clean,, bed super comfy, all around clean, just needs a few touch ups, but nice place

Hotel was nice and clean, however we didn’t get the room we requested. Housekeeping didn’t provide condiments for the coffee. Ultimately, it was a good stay.

There was no one at the front desk for several minutes when we arrived. The room temperature was freezing! We had to turn it up to 90’ for half hour to warm up the room. The bathroom shower curtain was stained, the shower had mold. The towels were thin and very small.
