Bandos Maldives

The island is wonderful! Although the three of us traveled with a toddler, it was a fantastic first-time vacation. The staff are friendly and always ready to help. You could tell they got tired during peak hours at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but they were always willing to assist. There is always something to eat at the buffet—you won't go hungry unless you're a foodie or an extremely picky eater. The island is green, well-maintained, and staff are constantly planting new greenery and cleaning the grounds. We didn't see any insects (except for ants, but it's the tropics, so that's everywhere). Not a single mosquito bite. The nature is mesmerizing. There is a kids' club—it's clean, and you can go in and play with your little one. After the rain, some minor debris occasionally washed up on the shore, but I think this is an issue due to the proximity to Malé. Otherwise, everything is clean. The rooms were cleaned daily, and bed linen and towels were changed upon request. Unfortunately, slippers are not provided in the room; we were told they are only included for certain room categories. Even though we had all-inclusive, which is a bit strange... that's a small drawback for comfort.

We stayed in a new 4-room villa. The room was huge and bright, and the bathroom was wonderful. Housekeeping was spotless, and fresh dry beach towels were brought to our room every evening, so we didn't have to worry about them at all. There is a gym—a bit on the smaller side, but overall it has everything you need and all equipment works. The restaurant hours are slightly limited, but a 3-hour breakfast window is more than enough compared to 5 hours. Also, for early check-outs, the hotel arranges a hot breakfast at 6:00 AM featuring omelets and yogurt while enjoying the sunrise view—priceless! The sea is gorgeous and very clean, with a stunning reef: we saw reef sharks, a turtle, a moray eel, and of course, a whole host of colorful fish. It's only a 12-15 minute speedboat ride from the airport. You are met at the airport with a "Bandos" sign and taken care of with great hospitality during both the arrival and departure transfers. Overall, based on observing the staff, the island management truly cares about their employees, guests, living standards, and quality of service. This is definitely a place we would return to.

Bandos is quite a large resort with plenty of lush greenery on the island, and the seawater is exceptionally clear. We booked a water villa, and the room was quite spacious. We could occasionally see sharks swimming around.

This is probably one of the very few beach pool villas on the entire island. We stayed at Lagoon Island this time, originally planning to use it as a stopover island for some good snorkeling, but unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate.

The buffet-style meals are excellent. Dining at the restaurant called 'Gallery' offers a wonderful ambiance. You can choose your own seat, and there are plenty of delicious dishes. The room is also very clean and spacious.

This island is a solid four-star. Of course, it's not the luxurious Maldives, but the price reflects that. The value for money is superb. The house reef is amazing! There aren't many islands like this left in the Maldives. You essentially don't need any external excursions; everything you need is on the house reef. We saw turtles, tons of sharks, and a huge variety of fish.
