Lumeria Maui, Educational Retreat Center

My stay at Lumeria is hard to put into words! Unbelievably beautiful grounds, fascinating history, kind, helpful staff, great food and space for yoga. Also a great spot from which to visit nearby Upcountry towns. Grateful for every moment and hope to come back.

So glad I decided to book this stay and booked the sounds healing and the crystal massage.

Pretty nice relaxing place. The other reviews a bit exaggerated. Woke up with massive bug bites after every night slept there. There is an extra fee. Didn’t use the yoga. Not a place probably for just a couple nights. Breakfast was good!

This is an extraordinary setting - the grounds are beautiful and serene, the architecture and interior decor are perfectly matched to the setting, and we love the amenities (that pool and spa!). But ... for whatever the reason ... the folks who stay aren't terribly friendly. Our friends who came with us pointed out that - with the exception of one father of a family of 4 - no one we encountered bothered to smile, wave or even look up to greet anyone. Even the person working in the kitchen was somewhat reluctant to engage. The most friendly people are the staff at the reception and the gardeners. That's a disappointment because now that our friends pointed this out - we're not too sure about returning.

John was fantastic and waited for me to arrive and helped guide me through the parking to get into the property. Any changes he made he made the effort to contact the massage therapist. The morning breakfast staff was attentive and helpful. Overall I would stay here again, if you are looking for peace, comfortable space and great staff then this is your future location while in Maui.

The staff were kind and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and the property is gorgeous and well maintained.
