Thavorn Palm Beach Resort Phuket

We stayed in a ground-floor pool access room on the lagoon side. It was just okay—the ground floor can be a bit damp, and there were a few small gnats in the room, though it wasn't a big deal. The hotel's location is good; right across the street from the back gate is the best, most enjoyable stretch of Karon Beach, with great sand and beautiful waters. The resort has plenty of swimming pools. The facilities are slightly dated, and the breakfast leans more towards Western and Thai options. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Facilities: From the lobby to the rooms, breakfast, pool, and even the mini-zoo, every area reflects cleanliness, tidiness, and professionalism. Hygiene: Exceptionally clean! It's a garden-style hotel with 4 pools, and numerous professional, butler-like staff are constantly maintaining it. Even the bottom of the pools are scrubbed clean daily! Environment: No need for many words, just look at the pictures. Service: I stayed at a nearby orchid hotel from August 1st to 5th. After checking out at 12 PM on the 5th, I wheeled my luggage over. Although the two places aren't far apart, walking with a suitcase in the heat was exhausting! I arrived completely soaked. The lobby staff, Eddie and BAO, proactively helped us with our luggage cart. The front desk also offered refreshing iced tea and cold towels, which were much needed! The check-in process was explained in great detail, and we were provided with a map.

Don't hesitate! This hotel is the best in terms of its grounds - a masterpiece. It's easy to get to from the airport by Smart Bus! This is very important when traveling!

Upon check-in, the front desk staff seemed displeased and claimed they'd upgraded our room for a good review, which wasn't true. Instead, we got a corner room facing a noisy construction site for a swimming pool. The bedding had stains and wasn't changed during subsequent cleanings. The soundproofing was terrible; our room was separated from the next by only a door, and we could clearly hear our Chinese neighbors' whispers. The whole experience was awful. Breakfast was entirely Western, which I couldn't get used to. The room was even damper than the ones at Katathani, and the air conditioning was so loud it disturbed our sleep. I'm not usually picky, but this place was full of complaints.

Traveling with my family, I booked the Family Fun Deluxe Room, which had a king-size bed and a bunk bed, perfect for 3-4 people. This is my second stay at the hotel, and it feels great – I think it's even the same room as my first visit! The hotel is indeed quite old, and compared to my first stay, some areas have been renovated. The facilities are still good, though it's a pity the small pool in front of the room was under renovation. Overall, the hygiene and service are excellent. The bedding wasn't damp and was very clean, and room service was prompt. Thank you!
