Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas

The room was decent. Being off-season, the waves were high and it rained a lot. The restaurant staff were very friendly. It's a standard resort-style hotel.

Aside from the slightly stiff service and the extensive paperwork required during check-in, the stay itself was fantastic! I particularly loved the room design. I'd definitely come back again.

The overall hotel environment is very nice, and the beautiful scenery makes it perfect for a vacation. The hotel staff were also very enthusiastic throughout our stay. However, there were some surprising shortcomings. On the first day, we had a complimentary airport transfer, which was great! But in the email communication before our arrival, I mentioned needing to book a spa service after landing, and they confirmed they would communicate with the spa. Yet, upon arrival, nothing had been arranged. Secondly, during check-in, I confirmed my departure date and time, and they prepared breakfast nicely. However, there was no golf cart to pick us up! And after calling the front desk twice in the morning, still no one came. We had to drag two suitcases a long way from our room to the front desk. Finally, another letdown was that after the initial drop-off, no one offered to help with luggage or open car doors, which are basic services. A bit disappointing.

This island hotel in Phuket was such a pleasant surprise! The beach was uncrowded and peaceful, and watching the sunset with the sea breeze was incredibly therapeutic. The breakfast selection was rich and varied, and the service was attentive and meticulous. We felt comfortable throughout our stay – it's perfectly suited for an island getaway.

A top-notch experience, and I got to tick off a visit to the White Lotus resort filming location! The service was excellent, though the location was a bit of a letdown. Maikhao doesn't have much in the way of amenities, but it's close to the airport. The room's environment was rustic, with various small animals making appearances. The only minor flaw was the poor soundproofing; I could clearly hear sounds from the next room in my Sala Villa.

The environment is quiet and beautiful. There are relatively few facilities for children's activities, and it's quite far from the city center, so it's only suitable for a hotel staycation. There are also limited dining options nearby. The staff are very polite.

A very satisfying holiday experience! Anantara made my child incredibly happy and they had a fantastic time. Both the public and private pools were excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. Maya was incredibly helpful to me, and the gym was also great. A morning run on the beach felt wonderful too. The environment here is just superb!

My family and I all thought it was great. When we arrived at the hotel and saw the room, I felt it exceeded our expectations. The pool is quite large, going from shallow to deep, with the deepest point being 1.5 meters, which was suitable for everyone in the family. The room itself is spacious with high ceilings.

We chose Anantara for our anniversary, and the entire experience was a complete disappointment. From the start, communication about room decoration and booking a beach candlelit dinner was incredibly slow. I had to repeatedly urge the Trip.com customer service to follow up for me. In the end, they only told me close to the date that beach dinners weren't possible during this season. The room decoration was also extremely basic, like something from the last century. You can see it in image 1. Upon entering the room, I first found a pair of underwear left in the dressing room and had to ask staff to remove it. Later that night, while showering, I discovered a used Band-Aid in the bathroom. I was utterly speechless. We switched rooms the next day and received an upgrade. However, on the first day, we were told the minibar was free except for alcohol, but on the second day, we were told that wasn't the case at all (and ended up paying for the first day's minibar bill). On the first night in the new room, a spider bigger than my palm was crawling by the bed. We had to call staff to catch it... At 7 AM the next morning, a rechargeable alarm clock kept ringing incessantly, and I couldn't turn it off. It felt like I was going crazy... On the third day, the sink stopped draining... All these incidents were reported to staff, who came to check and deal with them. There are records of everything. I will never stay at this hotel again.
