Cringletie House

I was a solo traveler, but the staff at the Cringletie Hotel made me feel so welcome and tended to every need with such warmth. It was like staying with family. The grounds are gorgeous and there are a couple of trails to walk off all the fabulous food served at the restaurant. The views from my room every morning, were beautiful, and a great way to start my day.

We are currently eating a gorgeous Smorrebread open sandwich in the lounge having stayed overnight . It is so relaxing - we checked out before 11am and it’s now 3.30pm ! Partner just devoured fresh baked scones with clotted cream ! Can’t leave this view and relaxation here . Bedroom beautifully appointed with views of farmland and gardens . We had breakfast but didn’t have dinner this time on this visit . We will be back as the breakfast and lunch today have been delicious ! Lovely attentive staff and great to chat to Mr Cross. Had an enjoyable day in Peebles yesterday also . My partner raved about his morning porridge and we had beautiful poached eggs etc ! Walled garden stunning . Can’t recommend this gorgeous place enough !

We absolutely loved every aspect of our brief stay at Cringletie. From the welcoming Kirsty on reception , the lovely warm temperatures in all rooms on a bitterly cold day , the fabulous room we were allocated and the delicious tasting dinner we enjoyed in the evening everything was top notch. The building itself is stunning, and the interior decor is sympathetic to its age. The quality of staff is probably the best we have ever come across on our travels, Attention to detail was outstanding and in our eyes made the stay perfect. We can’t wait to visit again soon.

We had the pleasure of staying at Cringletie House estate again recently. My husband and I married here in 2012 and we've been back a few times with our son, now 12. We stayed at Ardean Cottage and can definitely say that Cringletie never disappoints. Staff are wonderful and go above and beyond. The setting is picturesque and grounds are wonderful to explore. Ardean Cottage is very well equipped and the hot tub was fantastic. A wonderful stay.

As usual the Cringletie team under Bill Cross’s direction continues to deliver a quality experience of exceptional food and great surroundings.

I recently visited for afternoon tea, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience—especially considering the price. From the outset, expectations were high, but the reality fell far short. The selection itself was underwhelming, it simply didn’t justify the cost. There are far better places offering higher quality and better value. Sadly, I wouldn’t return or recommend it—very disappointing.

This hotel is an absolute gem. The staff are all very friendly, professional and courteous. The hotel is beautiful inside and has a charm that exudes character. All the communal rooms are spacious, homely and elegant. Most with a roaring fire. I wish I'd stayed for dinner, if the breakfast was anything to go by. Lovely quality , good portions and again served with a genuine smile. Victoria the general manager was very helpful with all aspects of the visit and went above the call of duty, even offering a lift to the end of the drive to catch a bus. Would highly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again soon.
