Our group's experience with Inn the Ground was mixed. While the main grounds were beautiful and the main lodge building is wonderful, our accommodations fell below those descriptions. Since there were 5 of us, we thought the Yamhill House would be a terrific option, especially since there weren't enough single rooms available at the Inn. Unfortunately, that house is about 15 minutes away from the Inn property and is really nothing like anything we saw at the main location. The house itself is okay. The kitchen is actually nice with a lot of room and nicely finished. The beds were also fine, and the master bedroom along with its ensuite bathroom was very spacious. Beyond that the house was less than what you would hope for based on the pictures, price, and the appearance of the Inn itself as well as the photos of the house. I will not get into all of the details, but do feel it is appropriate to note acouple of things. The farmstand described in the information on Yamhill House is permanently closed. Plus, there is an "innkeeper's" house/dwelling attached to the main house, which was not mentioned anywhere. Much in life is tied to setting expectations, and in this case Inn the Ground set some high expectations with the pictures and descriptions on its website. It's just too bad they were not as good meeting expectations with the reality of what Yamhill House is and where it is located. It is essentially an okay vacation rental on a small farm on a noisy roadway near some outstanding wineries and cute towns.
