The location is fantastic! It's super convenient to walk to Kyoto Station, and there are lots of places to explore nearby, yet it's still very quiet. I attended a morning class which was an excellent experience. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in Kyoto.

An amazing experience! The morning meditation class was a unique highlight. Afterward, a monk guided us through the temple and its gardens. The room was spacious for Kyoto standards and the environment was wonderful. The location in Higashiyama Nanajo is perfect – walking distance to Sanjusangendo Temple and Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and there's a bus stop right outside. I was very satisfied with this stay.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had an absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. The property offers an extensive range of services and facilities that make every moment truly memorable. The rooms are immaculate, spacious, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. Modern amenities blend seamlessly with a serene atmosphere, ensuring guests feel completely at ease. The hotel’s dining options are exceptional, with a variety of cuisines and beautifully presented dishes catering to all tastes. The spa and wellness facilities are equally impressive, providing a perfect balance of rejuvenation and tranquility. What truly makes this hotel stand out is the unique morning class with monks. This serene and enriching experience provided a peaceful start to the day, offering insight into mindfulness and local culture. Participating in this morning ritual felt both grounding and inspiring, making my stay all the more special. From the friendly and attentive staff to the remarkable activities and facilities, this hotel earns a perfect score in my view. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a luxurious, culturally rich, and relaxing getaway.

A truly unique experience! Waking up early to join the monks for morning prayers and enjoying vegetarian meals was wonderful. The temple itself is beautiful and immaculately maintained. Early to bed and early to rise really made me feel great. It was a beautiful travel experience in Kyoto.

The room was quite spacious and clean. The vegetarian options at the restaurant were exquisite. I also enjoyed a private bath in the evening, which was incredibly relaxing. However, a major drawback was the strong body odor I noticed in the room after returning from my morning meeting... I'm not sure if it was coming from the air conditioning, but the heating was also very poor; it felt cold even at 29 degrees Celsius.

The rooms were small but incredibly clean and tidy. There were three of us, and it was perfect – our almost 16-year-old daughter had her own room, and my husband and I had another. The window overlooked a garden, so it was very quiet with excellent natural light. The lobby had comfortable seating for relaxing. Breakfast was a kaiseki meal, also very peaceful and refined. Waking up at 5:30 AM to gather on the first floor for the chanting ceremony was an unforgettable and moving experience. After the chanting, a gentle and thoughtful monk led us on a temple tour. The whole event lasted about an hour, after which we went to breakfast.

Staying at a temple hotel for the first time was truly a unique experience. The morning service on the second day was incredibly moving, and breakfast was fantastic – great variety and quality! Plus, we got to explore the temple grounds, which saved us the entrance fee.

Stayed for 3 nights. The room was basic, on par with a typical 'Quanji' (Chinese hotel chain) in China. The price was very high due to the May Day holiday. I tried the morning class once but didn't find it particularly special.
