This was my first-ever solo trip, and Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary made it the best of all my firsts. From the moment I arrived, I was surrounded by warmth, care, and a quiet attention to every detail. The entire team goes above and beyond, from daily laundry and perfectly arranged picnics to protein goodies for treks and soulful wellness treatments that made each day truly meaningful. Generously spacious spotless rooms, the wellness-inspired meals were delicious, crafted with thought and love. Ms. Soh and the entire team have all my heart. A very special thank you to Pema, my guide throughout the journey. His warmth, patience, and thoughtfulness made every experience even more special. From arranging treks and sharing stories to ensuring I was comfortable every step of the way, Pema truly made this trip unforgettable. He now feels like family. Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary isn’t just a hotel; it’s an all-inclusive experience at the most serene and silent location. They welcomed me home, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m genuinely homesick!! I leave with a heart full of gratitude and memories I will cherish forever. Cannot wait to return.

Third time at Bhutan Spirit and service is still impeccable. Soh - The manager there is fantastic, checking in on us everytime to ensure they’ve done the best they can for us. For instance, when we checked in after hiking, they offered us slippers and washed our shoes. They also arranged for our clothes to be washed as well. Best hotel in Bhutan since they offer special rates for locals and expats too! The bed was comfy and we did morning yoga, got a consultation with the in-house doctor, did a massage and sauna. Unfortunately, the pottery studio was closed this time round. The last 2 times we made some pottery pieces!

We recently completed a memorable 5 night stay at this beautiful retreat. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped inside, and made to feel nothing was too much trouble. Our suite was spacious, well appointed and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the nearby monastery, and Valley below. We were treated to an insightful briefing from the Buddhist doctor, and spa treatments every day, including the traditional hot stone bath. Meals 3 times a day were wonderfully prepared, featuring fresh on-site produce and Bhutanese specialities. Snacks and picnic packs were prepared for us, our guide and driver. Our boots were cleaned after our Tiger's Nest hike. As special as the Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary is, the thoughtfulness, sincerity, hospitality and generosity of the staff were exceptional. Our farewell surprise gift of individualised Bhutanese stamps were touching. The Sanctuary definitely stands head and shoulders above the many other properties we have stayed at throughout the world. We heartily recommend Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary, and greatly wish to return.

My husband and I stayed here during the end of April. We came across Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary from another persons itinerary and once I had seen the pictures I knew that I wanted to have our elopement ceremony there. We knew it was going to be in Bhutan but didn’t know where yet. Juliane helped us in preparing for the ceremony and organized everything. She knew the right questions to ask and she made us feel excited and trusting in the process. She is truly amazing! Her hospitality was everything. I want to also thank all of the staff for their kindness, hospitality and paying attention to detail. They also made the stay incredible on our special day and the room decorated was a nice surprise. Again- the staff here is incredible. The monks that blessed us were so kind and you could feel their presence. The day of our ceremony the guests were gone on their activities and we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves to roam around and take it all in. The services provided at Bhutan Spirit Sanctuary were also incredible- some of the best treatments that we’ve ever had; massages, etc. The pool there is very relaxing and is such a great place to unwind. The food was delicious and the tea bar included some of the best teas I have ever had. This place will remain ever so special and it was everything we could have dreamed for. I hope we can return again

The Bhutan Spirit Sanctaury is not really a resort. It is, first and foremost, an uber luxury spa, supported by five star accommodation and food. The spa facilities and service were outstanding. Our room was bright, spacious, with a to die for view. The bathroom setup with two separate sinks was great, as was the privacy afforded by the separate shower and lavatory enclosures. By the way, the spa offers the services of a traditional Bhutanese medicine practitioner, and he got our diagnoses spot on!

This was by far the best hotel experience we had in beautiful Bhutan - food was fabulous catering for tricky dietary requirements without blinking! All the staff were so friendly and caring - one of us had a cold and the wonderful manager took it upon herself to cure us with traditional effective remedies. The spa, swimming pool, archery and pottery were all managed with care and smiles. The only draw back is the road from the main road - treat it as a daily adventure! There are also small special temples nearby that are a little off the beaten track to explore. A real gem!

We stayed at Spirit Sanctuary in our last 2 days of our weeklong Bhutan trip with my parents. We arrived late at night but were warmly welcomed by their staff upon arrival. The services we enjoyed for our two days' stay is impeccable. They are able to cater to our specific needs at no extra cost, on top of their full boarding provision and complementary daily wellness massage, services (free daily laundry, washing of hiking boots etc) and other hotel activities (archery, warm pool, photo taking in local clothes). As per our request, they are able to arrange an ultra early a-la-carte breakfast in the morning we need to set off for the tiger monastery hike really early, a late night noodle snack when my father felt hungry and prefer to eat something hot instead of bagged chips and a very well-made packed lunch (which include some hot curry meat and rice kept in thermal pods on top of sandwiches) for our hike. I also want to compliment their tea selection of over 30 types provided at their restaurant, which is just eye-opening. I particularly want to thank the general manager for taking the effort to take care of my mother who opt out for the tiger monastery hike due to her physical condition. While the 3 of us are away for the hike for almost the whole day, she had kept her entertained (arranging her to take a momo-making class as well as well fed for two meals) and also well taking care of her while she is inside the hotel, especially since my mother does not speak very good English. Definitely a great stay for me and my family, ending my Bhutan trip on a high note. They are not particularly cheap but considering the service provided and the luxurious rooms, I think it is well worth the money. Also they seemed slightly cheaper than the other two luxury chain in Bhutan so it could be a better value-for-money in some sense.

This hotel and spa is like nothing you could ever imagine! The hotel and spa is well over 5 stars and the service and amenities are 20 out of 10! The General Manager Soh Chia Hwa curated our stay at the hotel, beyond our imagination! The cuisine is the most high - end representation of the Bhutanese cuisine. We also joined a cooking class at the Hotel and learned about what we could expect in our upcoming meals in local bhutanese restaurants! Soh, organized a spa day and cooking class and BEFORE DINNER , dressed us in local Kiera outfits for dinner. The Bhutanese Credo of Gross National Happiness, rings true, in this wonderful and magical and happy and peaceful country! -- Louise Sugar
