The Manila Hotel

Everything spotless, until a tiny cockroach appear in the table, but everything is good, welcome fruits and chocolates is nice

Overall it was a pleasant experience but for a young couple like ourselves some of the rules seemed like something set in the 1950 with 1950 Fashion 🤣, women are allowed slippers but not men, men can’t show arms 🤣 you’re not allowed to wear formal vest with a modern take on a formal attire but you can come wearing your Pj’s, all these strange rules just to have dinner lol, but good for taking pictures but for the price it’s not worth it, if you want to take pictures you are allowed to just come in from the streets anyway, there are much better hotels for this price the staff are polite but if you have a problem nobody can solve it. The common rooms are beautiful but the hotel rooms don’t reflect that. The staff are very polite.

Love the hotel! Swimming pool is very good. Not crowded. The room is super spacious, breakfast has wide varieties, quality is just ok tho

Staff members were nice and accommodating. I was actually injured at the time of my visit and I appreciated the fact that they helped me go around the place throughout my stay. Their food is great, room was clean, room service was great, actual services are great too.

The Manila Hotel has an old but elegant and luxurious style. Marble and stone finishing, tall ceilings and a grand piano at the back with a musician playing pleasant music greets you as you walk through the entrance. Lacking points from my personal experience: 1. The carpet floors need to be replaced. I had to change rooms because the first room I got had an unpleasant smell to it (they quickly changed my room after I went to the reception, so it wasn't terrible) and although I didn't notice until the end of my stay, the new room's carpet was frayed at the edges. 2. The night mode of the lights (many switches) completely cuts power to the power outlets. I didn't know and ended up waking up to a phone and power bank with a dying battery and needing to stay in the hotel a couple of hours until they finished charging. Maybe just a warning in the future? The good parts: 1. The service! People are SO accommodating, pleasant and efficient. Reception staff, waiters, bell boys and basically everyone greets you with a smile and tries to solve any problems with utmost focus and cordiality. 2. Traditional pride. Traditional fashion exhibition at the front was a great touch to my visit. The whole place (restaurants, pools, spa, rooms, etc) add to the experience. I could have stayed in the hotel and felt like I hadn't missed Manila's charm. 3. Excellent location. I realised early on that I could literally see every single thing from my "1 day tour of Manila" from my hotel room. Nothing says great location like this.

The hotel has maintained a classic style and is very convenient.  I however want to advise management to clean the chairs in the restaurant. The backs of most seats where the head rests are dirty and need cleaning.

We definitely enjoyed our stay with the cmplete amenities from the health club, spa, the fine dining, tap room. Swimming pooll etc. Staff were so warm and very pleasant. We will be back.
