This was my first time visiting Chongqing, and I chose the world-renowned landmark, the InterContinental Chongqing Raffles City, as my top choice. As soon as I entered the room, it was a pleasant surprise—spotless and as clean as new, with pristine bedding. Opening the curtains, the stunning, glittering night view of the Two Rivers unfolded before my eyes; it was simply breathtaking. The hotel offers 24-hour dining, and the steaks are exceptionally delicious. The staff were also very thoughtful, bringing me some local specialty snacks a few times. My stay was extremely comfortable and heartwarming. The service was attentive and made me feel right at home. It’s a very high-end hotel, and I will definitely stay here again next time I visit. The guest relations team really made our stay exceptional, and I have to give a special shout-out to Xiao Su!!! From the initial communication before check-in to the thoughtful early room arrangement and contact on the day, everything was handled meticulously and perfectly. Her replies were lively, fun, and patient, and you could genuinely feel that she was thinking from the guest's perspective. The service was so warm, with absolutely no rigid, procedural feel to it. A big thank you to Xiao Su once again!!! I also want to thank Xiao Yi, Xiao Luo, and Xiao Min for their professional care. The entire team was on point, making our vacation experience truly complete! The hotel is located in a landmark building in Chongqing, and what impressed me most were the stunning high-altitude views, the incredibly designed crystal skybridge, and the impressive lounge. The crystal skybridge has a beautiful ambiance, with large glass curtain walls and lush greenery, creating an aerial oasis. The lounge's afternoon tea featured solid quality desserts, scones, and sandwiches. The late-night à la carte menu changes daily, and the conch dumplings and dandan noodles were particularly memorable. The lounge breakfast, a rare find in China, offers a semi-buffet paired with an à la carte menu, and the food quality was absolutely amazing. The lounge's offerings are incredibly friendly for those who can't quite handle the spiciness found outside in Chongqing! All in all, InterContinental Chongqing Raffles City is definitely a hotel I would return to! Our whole family found this trip unforgettable.

Everything was absolutely perfect, especially the bread at breakfast—it was so delicious and beautifully made, you could really tell the chef put a lot of heart into it. The only downside was that, as a trip of three (myself, my daughter, and my 80-year-old mother), we usually book just one room. The hotel's online listing confirmed that three adults were allowed. We arrived to check in at around 8:00 AM, and the staff informed us that rooms weren't ready yet, but suggested we check in, go out to sightsee, and they would have our luggage brought up to the room. However, when we got back to the hotel at 10:00 PM to pick up our key and went to the room, we discovered there was only one bed. 🥲 Three adults and one bed—I honestly have no idea what the hotel was thinking. Because it was so late, the hotel told us that if we wanted an extra bed, it would cost an extra 408 RMB. We had no choice but to pay for it just to get an extra bed. 😅

Must be five stars! An exceptional stay at the InterContinental Chongqing Raffles City. First of all, located at a Chongqing landmark, the views of the two rivers are unbeatable—stunning scenery can be captured from every single corner. Second, as a celebrity-status hotel, the service is top-notch. The bedding, rooms, hallways, lobby, and breakfast are all of the highest caliber; a full five-star rating is well-deserved. Third, right downstairs are the shopping mall and the popular tourist hotspot Chaotianmen, making it extremely convenient, along with very accessible subway links. While it feels a bit touristy outside, as soon as you step into the hotel lobby, you instantly feel at home. Fourth, great attention to detail—they even gifted us two bottles of Tianfu Cola, which has a wonderful, authentic Chongqing touch. Excellent!

The view at the InterContinental Raffles City is indeed a major highlight. The high-altitude lobby is very unique, offering views of the confluence of the two rivers. However, the price is on the high side—a suite cost nearly 6,000 RMB during the National Day holiday. Before check-in, I had already confirmed via Diamond Elite customer service that an unobstructed room was required, yet upon arrival, I was still assigned a room with a construction barrier outside, which severely obstructed the view. The staff were initially unwilling to change it, and only agreed to switch rooms after I got angry and emphasized that the request had been clearly made beforehand. The service attitude was poor and lacked any apology. On the positive side, the welcome fruits and minibar were quite generous, and the variety at Chonglin breakfast restaurant was decent. The waitstaff here are quite enthusiastic and will proactively ask about your needs. Even the housekeeping aunties were more polite than the front desk. A suggestion for the executive lounge: the menu should indicate whether dishes are spicy or allow guests to choose the spice level, as the staff gave no prompts at all and we had to ask about everything ourselves. Perhaps the best thing about the hotel is its prime location and beautiful night view. Overall, expectations were too high, leading to even greater disappointment.
