Munduk Heaven Luxury Villas

One of the best choices we've ever made! This hotel is a true hidden gem surrounded by nature. If you're looking to just relax and chill out, this is the spot. We upgraded to the floating villa at check-in highly recommend doing this and it was a totally unique experience that was worth every single penny. The location is tucked away up in the mountains a little isolated, but the hotel has everything you could possibly need. The food was delicious with a perfect breakfast selection, and the beautifully decorated restaurant sits right by a pool with stunning views. A big thanks to the incredibly professional staff for providing such high standard service. We can't wait to come back.

We’ve decided to stay in this hotel for 2 nights during the New Year holidays. First of all, on the bright side: - The villa itself, the location, and the view were fantastic and wonderful: we really enjoyed spending time in the villa, taking in the natural scenery outside. - The staff was friendly and always ready to help. - The Hibachi cooking show — and particularly the chef — was our hero! - One day, the hotel organized a taxi for us to visit all the main waterfalls in the Munduk area (there are no Grab/Gojek taxi services available in that region — please keep this in mind). - We also played pool in the lobby, which was a nice extra. - There was a great New Year’s live band performance. But there are certainly a few flies in the ointment — or areas for improvement — that we would like to share: 1. When we arrived, we were simultaneously suggested to join the Hibachi show and dinner during check‑in, and it felt a little pushy (which you wouldn’t expect in such a place). For example, without getting our final decision, the manager decided to add the most expensive item from the menu to our order. It was resolved swiftly, but we still felt a bit like we were in a tourist trap rather than a relaxing environment. 2. The taxi service for visiting the Munduk area felt a bit overpriced. 3. Breakfast was okay, but we expected a greater variety of choices. 4. The swimming pool is located right next to the restaurant, which feels odd, and there is no nearby space to simply relax on a sunbed by the pool. 5. And the worst thing: when we left the hotel, we were offered a taxi driver to take us to another place. Midway through our ride, we realized that the car was full of beetles and cockroaches! We definitely expected a higher level of attention to the condition of drivers’ vehicles for guests. So, all in all - nice place but services quality should be improved in our opinion in order to justify value for money.

Restaurant is one of the best in Bali

This hotel is exception. We were able to upgrade to the floating villa. The views are spectacular and the room was well worth the extra we paid. The staff are very friendly from the reception to the restaurant staff and the spa staff. Febry's hibachi dinner is a lot of fun, we laughed a lot and ate well. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Very disappointed. Book a high-end room—or nothing at all. The other rooms are poorly located at the bottom of the valley; they are damp and cold. Sheets are dirty. Mixing different standards of accommodation is a very bad idea. Très déçu. Prenez une chambre très haute gamme ou...rien. en effet,les autres sont très mal placées, en bas du vallon, humides et froides. Draps sales. Très mauvaise idée de mélanger des standing différents.

Location great from the hustle and bustle of the busy tourist spots. Breathtaking views. The rooms/villas are romantic, cozy and unique. Value for money. Cleanliness was to of high standard. Noise level was low other than the road you hear some traffic hear and there but does not take it away from the jungle feeling still. Service was 10/10 chef “Febry” is an incredible chef we were treated like royalty and the intimate private dinner was memorable and spectacular. The Hibachi was incredible and a must do. We don’t want to leave, but we will definitely come back. This resort has the potential to be a fantastic destination, but for now, I suggest avoiding it. While the location is great and the food is decent, the property seems to suffer from a significant lack of staff management. Maintenance & Safety Issues The grounds and facilities are currently being neglected, leading to some avoidable hazards: Dangerous Access: Our garden room was at the bottom of the resort, which was fine, but the steps leading up were covered in moss and very dangerous. While a cable car is available, a simple cleaning would have made the walk much safer. Lack of Cleanliness: We encountered dead bugs around the pool and uncleaned bird droppings in the restaurant, despite its great view. Even the basics were missed, as we had to ask to have dirty sheets changed when we arrived. Staffing & Service Individually, the staff were sweet and respectful, but they lacked direction: Proactive Service: We found ourselves having to phone at 3 pm just to get our room cleaned, as the team didn't seem to do much unless prompted. Professionalism: I noticed staff smoking on the property, which I believe is a major "no-no" for a resort of this caliber. The Verdict All of these problems—from the hygiene issues to the lack of initiative—could be easily sorted if management were actually on top of things. With proper leadership and a thorough cleaning, this could be a great spot; however, until those changes happen, it’s best to stay elsewhere.
